Tombstone Ranch RV and campgroun
The beautiful scenery, secluded. Host was so helpful and polite! He has a vision and im sure it will amazing when it's finished!!! I'd say if there was 1 thing I'd have liked more was to have faucets water right near the pavilion! Other than that we had a fun filled 4 days and nights.

Private. We were the only campers there. Pond very shallow this time of year, very little water. Outhouse rustic not cared for, water availability is for the horses literally. We made it work though. Spent the evening on tarps amongst the trees just kicking back, looking at the stars. Left ASAP!

Warm, family atmosphere!
The ranch is great for families! The animals are so sweet and welcoming and my kids loved them! The host was excellent and very attentive, making a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The only downside is you have to share the fire pit and grill, but if that isn't a problem for you, it is a great site!

Pros and Cons
Tombstone ranch was beautiful and secluded and we had an overall great time, however, it is not quite as advertised. We went there expecting to be able to fish, kayak and swim right out of our campdoor based on the site description and reviews. It wasn't a bad experience by any means I just wish we knew a little more so we could have been prepared so hopefully this will help someone else out. Pros: -Beautiful, peaceful, secluded location. There was no one there when we were there -Clean site and grounds -Friendly host and staff, they even invited us over for dinner one night and brought us fresh eggs from the chickens. -The animals were very friendly. There were puppies while we were there that were adorable and fun for the kids to play with -Very minimal misquitos, I think only 2 people got bites -Outhouse was as clean as an outhouse can possibly be -Lots of wildlife to watch! We saw lots of birds, turtles, frogs, and even deer crossing the pond. The coyotes at night were cool to listen to. -Water was clear and clean great for kayaking or canoeing -The dogs were very protective of the land from coyotes and anything else that didnt belong so we appreciated that because we could hear that the coyotes were close at night. -The Stars at night are amazing! Do yourself a favor and get up or stay up til about 2am when you can see them all. -Only about a 20 minute drive to Loon Lake for swimming and supplies -One of the dogs slept with our oldest in his tent and it was adorable CONS: -While the water was clear it was not swimmable, the vegetation was thick and only about a foot from the surface. -No fishing off the bank and the vegetation was thick everywhere so we didn't try off the kayaks -While all the dogs are super sweet they jumped up and scratched our truck as soon as we arrived, nothing that can't be buffed out. -The dogs were always at our campsite, this is both a pro and a con because we love dogs but all of them being there all the time was a bit much and they didn't listen when we told them to go home. -We had to constantly watch our food so the dogs didn't take it. -There is very little shade depending on where you pull in. I wish we would have known so we could have brought a shade tent. We needed electrical so we had to be close to the hookup which left us unshaded completely. -The dogs get into anything that is left out including garbage. We thought we had put ours up high enough but we came home to garbage strewn all over our campsite -Campsites are mostly dirt and dried weeds which again isn't a big deal if you know. We put down outdoor rugs and it was fine. -This wasn't necessarily a con for us but it is something to note that with all the animals comes all the animal noises that WILL wake you up. The dogs are protecting the property all night and bark all night long. Like I said we could hear the coyotes so we appreciated the dogs for that.

Farm visit
Tombstone Ranch is staying on a working farm. There are pigs, cows, chickens, dogs (they breed Retrievers) and a horse! All are friendly even the hosts Rick and Bill. Beautiful setting for a cow pasture. Underground Spring is basically a stand still marsh. Fun to canoe in but wouldn't swim in it. Putting a picture of the "decorative" truck that their actual address is on would have been helpful.

Rockin' Rustic Romp with Retrievers
Bill and Rick were great hosts. The first night we were there Bill grilled a tri-tip and some chicken, made some BBQ beans, and corn and invited the guests to eat with him. It was an unexpected treat. The camping area is definitely rustic. I didn't quite know what to expect. The area has the great aesthetic of a ranch even down to the outhouse Bill made himself. They raise golden retrievers on the ranch and, honestly, they were an unexpected delight. I'm sure my family would have had a great time regardless, but the retrievers really pushed it to the next level. They were lovable, loving, protective, and had great personalities. We will never forget Jester, Zoe, Nala, Butters, Goldie, and Remmy and hope we see them all again. They protect the ranch from coyotes and raccoons and set up sentry around the camp. It was honestly very comforting to know they were there. And kinda like having our own pride of lions. We'll definitely be back.
