The stay at Reg's land was just what my boyfriend and I needed to get away from the busy city we live in. Upon arriving Reg gave us a tour and showed us the amenities. During the stay we appreciated the shelter from the rain at night and the beautiful sunlight that peaked in through the cabin during morning. I did feel that the price of the cabin was a little unbalanced based on the fact that there were a few things that weren't functioning properly, and there was a rodent issue in the cabin. I’m sure this issue can be resolved, but this problem should have been addressed before putting the listing up to the public. I understand that being in the wilderness comes with issues like this, but again the rodent issue combined with certain cabin and kitchen matters should have been explained/shown in more detail within the listing and the price point should have been lower, or those issues should have been resolved before listing the cabin. Reg’s space and land is beautiful and is a great escape, I know it will continue to grow and thrive with time.
Lovely cabin stay
We really enjoyed the stay in Thoreau’s cabin. It was perfect to keep us out of the rain on our first night. Cozy and barely needed the provided heater. The grounds were great and our dog loved running through the tall grass and exploring the nearby creek. The communal bathroom was very clean and well kept, it was great to have a full working bathroom and shower. We didn’t use the communal kitchen space but it was a nice touch. Reg is working on building a new kitchen and common space. We will definitely be returning and look forward to seeing the updates on the property.
We weren't sure what to expect when we rented this space, but it's incredible! The cabin itself is very cozy, with a nice fire pit and a wall of blackberry bushes giving you privacy. Reg was wonderful, his hospitality was very refreshing. He obviously takes pride in his stead, and all the facilities were clean and well maintained, and there were multiple hikes within walking distance. I would recommend this campground to anyone who wants to get away without worrying about necessities like bathing and cooking.
Staying at Reg’s place was amazing! I stayed in Thoreau’s cabin and was so charmed. This was my first time “hip-camping”, so we came prepared with sleeping bags and mats etc. We were thrilled to find cozy bedding, outlets, and a fire place (one indoor and one outdoor).
The space was brimming with natural light and lots of windows to open for fresh air. There were blackberry bushes ripe with fruit nearby, and the shared restroom was the nicest common restroom I’ve ever used.
Reg was a wonderfully hospital host who was happy to give directions to hikes around the area and a genuinely enjoyable person to talk with. He has more plans for the site including another bathroom, a newer common kitchen and more. If I have the time I would love to go back one day to see how the property has grown.
Comfy in cascadia
Reg was an excellent host that pointed us to all of the amenities and natural beauties on the grounds. He was very easy to communicate with and even offered a little tour/history of the site. The cabin itself was comfortable, architecturally interesting, and well-appointed. Thank you for the stay; we hope to be back!
