This property has a lot to offer while still being close to Tacoma and Olympia. If you love animals, this is an ideal spot. Four friendly horses, two adorable goats, two sweet dogs and some curious chickens - a small menagerie to entertain you! There are some beautiful, tranquil trails behind the property. Old growth oaks covered in moss and fields of wildflowers can be explored by foot or on horseback. The host, Bethanne is so friendly and helpful. There is a covered gazebo to camp under in case of rain, but otherwise you can camp in the horse pasture. There is an outdoor fridge/freezer, campfire, and access to an indoor bathroom. Bring along some carrots - you'll make some fast friends.
This was my first Hip Camp experience and we had a lot of fun. My boyfriend's daughter who is 11, is the biggest animal lover I know. At one point, she said "this is one of my favorite camping trips". There were horses, goats, dogs, and chickens. All really well-behaved! The host was super nice and welcoming. The property was beautiful and we found an awesome spot close to the forest to set up camp and have a nice fire in the evening. The trails behind the property went on for days and days. We could have easily spent the day exploring. Close to town, so we were be to make quick trips when needed. I brought my dog and all of the animals were so sweet and gentle with him. It was a fantastic trip & we are excited to come back again this summer!
We had the most perfect night here!! Just 20 minutes down the road and we felt like we were totally camping. Bethanne was a wonderful host and made us feel so comfortable on her property. All of the farm animals are super friendly and well behaved, it was fun to watch the kids interact with them! The communal fire pit was definitely a hit, we had the fire roaring all night long as we slept under the stars. Beautiful night! Will definitely be back.
A fab first Hipcamp experience especially for our animal loving kids - us adults forgot that we were abit scared of horses so that was hilarious - the horses were cool!
Great little spot, but still close to everything. The animals were definitely a highlight! We were greeted on arrival by a dog and a goat together and got to feed the horses the next morning. Bethanne was super accommodating, but let us have our space too!
I parked my trailer next to the goats and loved seeing their antics. Being so close to animals was just what I wanted. The area beyond Bethanne's property is gorgeous - I got to walk through all the fall colors and enjoyed the peace. It was warm enough to sit in her covered area on the swing and read in the sun. I had a great stay, and recommend it to anyone!
Private lot w/ horses, goats & pups
Private, quiet and relaxing. We pitched our tent in the far back with one of the four horses and cooked dinner over a small above ground fire pit. There are trees to relax under and hang a hammock. We played with the dogs and goats a bit, the animals were all very used to people and walked around entertaining themselves. For an additional charge Bethanne took us horseback riding through the trail system behind their house - very fun adventure! There is clean drinking water but no shower. Would stay again!
Although the host was very nice, the property was a bit in disarray and she wasn't very communicative. It was especially awkward when after she told us we would be the only ones on the property and to text her if we had any questions, people started arriving for what I can only assume was an impromptu party given by the host although no explanation was given to much later in the evening. We felt as if we were intruding.
