This is a lovely camping spot, really great! The hosts are fabulous and have gone the extra mile to make the camping areas unique and welcoming. The only heads up is that if you are towing anything, there is a very steep hill and you will definitely require a 4×4 to get back up. Really beautiful camp in the rainforest. Unique and well turned out!
Not as advertised
The campsite was not as advertised. The host requested to change our reservation to a different campsite. I agreed as long as the new site had the same amenities. The host assured me the site included everything as before, and had more privacy. This was not true.
Separately, the campground has only one toilet for the 30+ campers. It's a very nice flush toilet, but there is only one, which leads to long lines in the morning and evening.
Lush and quiet
Logan's campground is beautiful- very quiet, lush, and clean. We had 4 people and a dog- there was enough privacy between campsites for our group. The bathroom is very clean and well-equipped. There is a communal grill, table, and dish-washing station with potable water. One thing of note is that there was a tent already set up at our site- with air mattresses inside for us to use. This came as a surprise to us, as the listing specifically says "bring your own tents." We were prepared with all of our stuff. Also, there is a "no dog in the tent" rule, so the unexpected set-up did change our arrangements. I'd recommend checking with Logan before your trip to see what will be there vs what you'll need to bring. The spot is a mile from Lake Crescent and there is a small store at the Fairholme Campground very close by.
Great for city girl wanting rugged
It was a great balance - rugged but had a nice bathroom/shower and other amenities. I also liked that the campsites were pretty separate from one another - not like a typical campground. Logan was flexible and available to us, and he is doing a great job creating what is a cool environment - nice woodworking, statue of Big Foot, fun little trails, etc. It ended up being a great experience for a city girl.
Better then national or state parks
Zion (Logan’s son) was a great host! He kept the bathroom and all the other facilities super clean. We met amazing people at this campsite. There was room for extra tents. I would stay here over a national or state park any day. They had everything you need as a car camper. Water and bathroom!
This site is a little hidden treasure with pre-set up tents and a hippie commune flare. It’s tent camping but with the wanted cooking and bathroom amenities. The location was remote but close to good hiking and lake activities. Loved the dog too! China was adorbs and my spirit animal.
Staying at the rainforest retreat was honestly a great experience. A tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, and pillow were provided, as well as a couple of chairs. I also appreciated the peaceful environment of the camp overall, as well as a bathroom and shower.
As you’ll see in the photos, there is drinking water, utensils, and pots and pans as well. I’d recommend staying here, and a visit to Crescent Lake nearby is worth it too!
