Shallow Springs Ranch is excited to announce that we have nearly completed building six new campsites on the property.  The new sites are located only about one to two minutes from the original campsites 1 and 2 (which are now closed).  We listened carefully to the excellent feedback from our campers this past season and incorporated many suggestions.  All the new sites offer the same quality of privacy and space as the previous sites and based upon your suggestions, the campsites were specifically designed with unique characteristics.   Please carefully review each campsite description below to choose the perfect site for your camping needs.

Don't forget to follow us on Instagram as we put the finishing touches on each site through the off season months in preparation for the upcoming 2021 camping season.  We will be taking progression photos of the work in progress and adding them to the listing while replacing the old photos as appropriate.

Campsite 1:  This site has space for one vehicle with additional parking near the campsite.  The site can accommodate 4 to 6 people, one to two tents or camper van or truck w/camper.

Campsite 2:  This is a "WALK-IN" campsite.  Your vehicle will be parked approximately 50 feet from the site.  This site is designed for one tent only and can accommodate up to 4 people.  The site offers privacy with a unique camping experience in a beautiful setting.

Campsite 3:  This is our only campsite offering more space for motorhomes up to 32 feet, travel trailers, or larger groups with two to three tents.  This is a convenient pull-thru site with two picnic tables, larger fire pit and additional seating.

Campsite 4:  This campsite was designed for those campers who enjoy sleeping in hammocks, tents (one tent only) or camper vans.  Parking is available for one to two vehicles and the site is best suited for 4 adults or 4 adults with two to three children.  If using a hammock, please do not/not place nails, screws or any hardware into the trees.

Campsites 5 and 6 is still under construction and should become available in late spring/early summer 2021 timeframe.

Background:  Shallow Springs is a working Ranch with acreage set aside for Hipcampers who have their own area for enjoyment. You may catch a view of horses being ridden or cattle grazing. Our pond has been fully renovated for the ducks and geese, where seating is available for viewing enjoyment. We have a flock of chickens and a friendly ranch dog. There is a nest of Bald Eagles in the vicinity that frequently fly overhead. Don't be surprised to wake up and find deer strolling by. Feel free to relax and watch the animals in their habitats. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them on a leash when not in your campsite.

Bring your bike and access the Larry Scott Trail located only 4 minutes or one mile by walking from the ranch entrance. It goes on for miles throughout the valley and to the downtown boat marina. This is great for biking or hiking while catching fantastic views of local properties.

Shallow Springs is a 70 acre Ranch located just 15 minutes from the historic victorian city of Port Townsend.  You can enjoy the wineries, micro-brews, farmers market and a variety of festivals, among numerous other fun activities.

If you are looking for a great retreat in the woods, this is the place to stay! Joseph and Elisa were wonderful hosts. Their farm is beautifully kept, quiet and peaceful with all the amenities you need. The campsite we spacious and clean, with restrooms (clean Porta Potty with hand sanitizer!) close by. The farm is conveniently located near Port Townsend. Already planning our next trip to the peninsula and will stay here again!

Thanks Meagan for your wondering review. We’ve tried really hard to make things as perfect as possible for an enjoyable stay here at the ranch. We are constantly striving to improve and we’ve already made some improvements since your visit. We have plans for expansion next year in a different area of the property with even more privacy. We look forward to your next visit.

We had a wonderful stay at Shallow Springs. The sites are very private and quiet. Perfect getaway. Both Joseph and Elisa are friendly, communicative, and hospitable. The description of the sites is accurate and the directions clear. Shallow Springs is a working farm and we enjoyed learning about horses and cows (the farm animales are fenced in). We rode our bicyles from the campsite to reach the bike path nearby. Port Towsend is just a short drive from the ranch. The bike path also leads to town. We highly recommend camping at Shallow Springs and look forward to visitng again soon.

We really enjoyed our stay at campsite 1. It was just my boyfriend and me with our dog. We only stayed one night as we were heading for the coast, but would have loved to spend another night or two here. We'd like to come back and spend more time on the farm and see the animals!

Joseph and Elisa were very hospitable and welcoming. They met us at the first gate when we drove in and showed us to the site. The campsite is spacious and private and has a great firepit and picnic table. The restrooms are a short walk away and were clean. The sanitizing station was great. We appreciated that firewood bundles were available for $5. I highly recommend Shallow Springs Ranch!

Joseph and Elisa were gracious and accommodating hosts. Our camping area was spacious and private. We stayed in a forest clearing overlooking a pasture. The only lights at night were the bright stars. Each morning, the Sun cast a golden glow on the green richness of the surrounding trees.

This was our first Hipcamp site and it exceeded all expectations! Joseph and Elisa couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming and our site (#2) was beautiful, peaceful and full of birdsong. The description and directions were spot-on and they greeted us upon arrival & walked us through the process for gates and amenities. The trash, porta-potty and hand cleaning station was an added bonus. They have plans to improve the leveling of site 2 but it worked with a little bolstering. Katie, their dog is friendly and the geese, ducks, chickens and horses are wonderful to watch. Their location is close to lots of fun activities and we highly recommend Shallow Springs!!!
