The vibe at Seven Lakes Campground
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Driving through neighborhoods and winding roads that conform to the curve of the nearby lakes, it seemed odd to be searching for an address of a parcel of land. We turned in to experience what felt like our own private park on the lake. The lake is 100% accessible and ideal for SUPing, kayaking, or floating out into the deeper section. In late summer, the muddy bottom doesn't make for a clean exit if a cleansing swim is all you're after. Older trees provide perfect shade as the temperature rises and the fire ring is perfectly situated, large enough for a family of friends complete with plenty of places to sit. Vasilios, the host, came by to meet us and never seemed to leave as he became a comfortable addition to our group. We were in a tent and our friends arrived in an RV- both had plenty of space to be separate and cozy in their locations. Ducks quacked by and deer shot out of the neighboring brush to stop and observe us before heading on. Although I encouraged Vasilios to invest in a toilet of some kind, it wasn't difficult to find privacy to do my business. It's a perfectly relaxing location as a destination or simply as a stopover on your way to it!
My husband, dog, and I stayed here for our Anniversary. We brought a tent and a canoe. We had plenty of room for these items, plus tons of room to throw a softball and play catch with a football. The campfire has logs and chairs available and is close to the water for a great view. Be aware the campfire does not have a cook top on it. We brought a portable gas stove and this wasn't an issue for us. We were very happy to see that there is now a porter potty as a lot of previous reviews stated that there was not one and I didn't see a lot of cover if there had not been one. The neighbors were friendly, but didn't bother us. We had our concerns about the sounds of neighbors with it being over memorial day weekend, but the noises that we did hear were at reasonable times and didn't effect us at all. We were able to take our canoe out on the lake a few times, there was no dock to hook up to, but we were able to push off fine with a canoe. There are a few stores about a 15 min drive away. I would definitely consider going back again!
This place is great. It's a private lot, so you guaranteed get your own space. There is a picnic table, porta potty and fire pit with chairs, which is awesome. Ultimately it wasn't far enough outside civilization for us, but for a family or big group, this would be perfect!
We absolutely LOVED our stay here and really want to go back. The lake was peaceful and so pleasant to sit next to.
All the necessary amenities were available for us to be able to relax and just enjoy this property and our time.
Highly recommend to anyone who would enjoy a peaceful campfire by the lake.
