This was a great place to stay very near to Olympic National Park! We were greeted by the host, Sid, who took us around the property and showed us his horses and dog, Jake. We set up our tent on a plot of grass and enjoyed the night looking at the Olympic mountains across the field. Definitely would recommend staying here on your way to the park!

Setting up the tent, next to the open field just before sunset. Taking in the great view of the field outside our tent. Sharing stories in the tent during our stay.The horses on the farm. Friendly and curious!

Although it was a beautiful location with great access to Sequim and Dungeness, the site was not ideal for our family with a young toddler. Our RV site next to the bullpen:

Was thirty feet away from a very busy road with relatively heavy traffic late into the evening;

Had electric fences at one end of site;

Had a questionable (stinky) water supply that we opted not to use; and

By far the most disappointing of all, the promised “pit toilet”... not an accurate portrayal and this should be removed from the description by the host. (It was a toilet seat built over a pile of sawdust and a shovel with which guests were apparently supposed to use to cover their business a la cat boxes...)

Overall it was a pretty big letdown and I can’t recommend. We saw the host/property owner briefly at check in but nothing after that — it would have been good to get some sense of how to reach him if we had an issue he may have been able to address. The hoped-for relaxing alternative to a cramped KOA or state park turned out to be more stressful than we could have imagined. We understand it’s a working farm, but the description gave no indication it wouldn’t have the essentials needed for us. At the very least there should be a disclaimer that it’s not suitable for very young kids and the pit toilet amenity should be removed.

After finding all of the local campsites full, we opted to book Sid’s place instead. The RV site itself doesn’t have much privacy as you’re parked right in the driveway with a road behind you and we were never shown where the toilet was (we ended up driving into town to use the bathroom). There’s great mountain views and farm animals on site, including a friendly dog that our dog was quite fond of. The water and electrical hookup was a bonus, but didn’t justify the $40/night. The water on the property is useful for washing but probably not drinking. We’re easy-going campers that use Hipcamp often, however, this wasn’t the experience that we expected. I should mention that it’s possible that tent camping is different as it’s not in the same site as the RV.

Sid was a great host and even helped us out with our camper and dog. The site is just on the edge of a field with a great view of the mountains in the distance. Highly recommend!

A great site, private, and the host (Sid) is friendly. Very easy to come and go as we please, and a great location.
