Not what we expected
Not what we were expecting. We had issues before we even arrived. The map that is tied to the camp isn’t right, and what’s weird is- the host knows! We had to call him after being lost in a trailer park for a bit, he said, “oh yeah that keeps happening” and then was given the right address. We pulled into the site that is NOT private. It’s a large, open area where people just pull up and set up camp wherever. Even with the teepee reserved we had little to no privacy. The listing said there were “bedding and kitchen supplies” provided, which isn’t the case. The biggest issue, though, is the shower/toilet. It isn’t very well maintained, and especially in this COVID climate was very concerned with the lack of maintenance. We have camped in state park campgrounds with much cleaner facilities. Sadly, we won’t be back.
Avoid, and don’t look back.
Completely opposite of what is advertised. I’ve already contacted hipcamp about the inaccuracy of the posting and unsafe environment. There was an extension cord in the shower. All of the teepees were taken, although we’d paid for one, so we had to sleep in our car after a long day. The bathroom was not clean. The only part of this that didn’t appear to be a scam is that there is an actual teepee. Everything else was falsely advertised and very dirty. Don’t stay here.
Showed up expecting a well-kept teepee with a queen sized clean mattress cot. Got a dirty teepee FULL of cobwebs, signs of zero upkeep and a dirty mattress with some weird sheet of plastic over it that looked like it had never been cleaned. People set up camp all over right near our space. The bathroom facility was absolutely atrocious. We slept in the car and didn’t even utilize the teepee. I’m not a stranger to camping by any means. I would’ve felt much cleaner and safer using my own tent. There needs to be some serious re-evaluations at this site:
A true outdoor adventure!
The host, Dylan, was wonderful. Friendly and helpful. Lots of great info about where to find Beaty and activities in the area. He made sure we were taken care of but was very careful not to intrude. Really the perfect host. The land is beautiful and the stream running along the side was peaceful. There are some super cool things for kids including a very sturdy rope swing over the creek. The teepee was chilly at night even though it was in the 80’s during the day so bring warm sleeping clothes. This is not like a state campground. The camp area is very large and open. There is no real privacy between sites so if you want seclusion this isn’t the spot for you. It would be amazing for large groups of people happy to chat and play frisbee etc with your neighbors. I would recommend this place for outgoing and adventurous people. It is very close to so many great places and Dylan will be an instant friend! The teepee is well built and a once in a lifetime experience.. Thank you, Dylan! Happy camping!
Dylan was very welcoming. He would come by just to check on us and chat with us if we were up to it. Really enjoyed our stay with Savage Streams. My husband is not a camper like I am. He is actually really looking forward to going back. Thank you Dylan for making our stay so enjoy able.
After putting the GPS coordinates in google maps, we ended up smack in the middle of a mobile park--with no tepee in site! Fortunately, my son had spotted the tepees from the road, and so headed to where we saw them!
It was our first time staying in a tepee--and it was awesome! It rained, so we were able to have a fire in the tepee!! The camping sites by the stream are NUTS! I could see a huge party happening there--post COVID, of course!
Dylan was nice and friendly and brought firewood for everyone, too!
The only slight negative for me--not my husband or son--was that there was only one bathroom and I couldn't figure out how to flush it initially... I read a review that said the bathroom wasn't for everyone--which I agree with... my husband and son thought it was awesome, though! My husband loved taking a shower and looking at the cool barn stuff at the same time! :)
