This is definitely a destination Hipcamp!! Come for the location and the solitude and stay for a romantic getaway or a family retreat. My husband and I loved this little cabin in the woods on Vashon Island! It was super cozy and had everything we needed. There were trails out the front door on the property and plenty of things to explore on the island. It's a very dog-friendly place, and our dog loved roaming around the property. The porch was a lovely place to enjoy morning coffee, and the bed was so comfortable!! Catherine was an amazing host and made us feel right at home. I would definitely recommend this place for couples, small families or a girls weekend. It sleeps up to 4, with a queen size bed downstairs and two twins in the loft. The ferry from Tacoma was quick and easy ($20 round trip). We did see a couple mosquitos when we were there, so bring bug spray. There was very little road noise, even though the cabin is not far off the main road. The outhouse has been updated and Catherine has put in a composting toilet in a heated bathroom that is detached from the cabin, so you do have to go outside to use the bathroom, but we didn't mind. Also, the water is outdoors, but I believe Catherine is planning on installing an indoor sink sometime soon, which would make this cabin a great year-round destination no matter the weather. Such a great find!!
The cabin is amazing and has everything you need to cook and enjoy the great outdoors. The bed is so comfortable and the place is peaceful. We are already trying to find another date to return this year. You will not want to leave the property.
Had an amazing time at this place and would highly recommend staying here for a night or more. Everything inside was as expected and very well kept up. The property was beautiful however it looked as though they were doing some construction as there was a lot of leftover building material lying around.
Lovely, cozy little place to escape to. The forest around the cabin has a great trail that loops around for a quick hike. I was envisioning a bit more seclusion (you can see and hear cars through the trees on the nearby road, though traffic was minimal), but we would definitely go again.
