I must say our Creekside stay was pretty magical. We arrived late after work on Friday night and Sol was there to meet and greet us. He was extremely easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. He showed us around the campsite pointing out the many pieces of camp infrastructure that he built from the sediment up. Now when I say from sediment up, I truly mean every stepping stone he placed in by hand, each path was bordered with a thick rope that he set purposefully throughout the site. This helped guide you during late hours of the night. Rose plants spread throughout the entire forest. I can’t even imagine how epic that will be when they are in full bloom. There were tons of edible plants to forage from, we snagged some fresh huckleberries, and blackberries. He created an annual edible ecosystem. (Including Wapato in a small wetland area of the site).

We camped on a mossy level bed right next to the river. There is plenty of space to pitch multiple tents. Sol even left us a strawberry starter to plant when we got home. It was very thoughtful. In the morning you can hear eagles up in the trees high above the tent.
There was easy access to an extremely clean bathroom a short distance away. The Columbia River was also a five-minute walk and perfect to catch the sunrise.
The campsite is about 40 minutes from Astoria. We stopped in Astoria on the way out and had lunch at North West Wild on the waterfront (best fresh seafood) and following that stopped at Reach Break Brewery for a cold beer.

I highly recommend staying here. We will be back.

Nestled away on the mossy knoll. Does it get any more PNW than this?Feels like fall is just around the corner. tent people lodging

Creekside Gardens was wonderful. Private, relaxing and a solid balance of accessibility and off the grid. All the isolation of backpacking + all the convenience of car camping!

Sol was an awesome host and an excellent steward of nature - the respect he has for Creekside Gardens and was good to see, and it was cool to note the care and organic development of the area.

In atmosphere and quality, this place is above and beyond what I've found on Hipcamp. Take advantage of its vibe if you're exploring OR/WA coastlines and looking for an escape, you'll get more of a destination than a tent site. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent find, incredibly beautiful, and well-appointed. Sol is an excellent host, with so much knowledge and passion for ecological restoration. There are plenty of amazing sites to pitch a tent, with some views of the Columbia, tucked deep on a ridge covered in maples and alders. We had an amazing, quiet night there and look forward to returning soon.

Our stay at the creekside gardens went above our expectations. We got to the site around 7pm on a Saturday after work and Sol was there waiting to lead us up the rocky dirt road to our own, huge, super private site with the Columbia in the backdrop. Everything was super well maintained and the creek was really peaceful to hear at night. We’ll be back, as I proposed to my girlfriend during this trip and it’ll forever be a place of amazing memories!

What an interesting place this is - Sol was an awesome host. He greeted us to get us settled in, but only after taking us around the property to share stories about forest engineering, local history, and also a bit of foraging. He was readily available to answer our questions via phone (you can leave cans/bottle for him to recycle). The site is very private; hardly hear any traffic. You'll fall asleep to the sound of the creek. The only thing that I will mention is that there is a ton of mosquitoes on this particular site. If you're allergic like me, just come prepared with extra DEET sprays/wipes.

Sol has created a beautiful space that is very peaceful and private. It was such a nice alternative to the summer camping crowds without having to drive way off into public lands.

Sol has curated a very intentional experience to allow campers a chance to learn the natural history at the mouth of the Columbia River. Sol is knowledgeable and passionate about the land and works to make it a sustainable resource for guests to enjoy. The views are incredible. We saw bald eagles and other wildlife. The landscaping is deliberate and magical. This campsite will surely meet your expectations if you are looking for privacy and taste. Furthermore, communication and attention to details by Sol, make this spot one I will return to for years to come.
