10 acres of meadows, forest, garden, pond and seasonal stream on Orcas Island, WA! Camp in a grove of cedars or in a meadow by the pond. Orcas Island at large is a special place to connect with nature and healthy ecosystems. Moran State Park on the east side of the island is a fabulous evergreen rainforest sanctuary with old growth trees and amazing lakes to explore. Turtleback mountain is on the west side (close to us) and is a sacred mountain full of oak trees and splendid views of the surrounding islands, including Vancouver island in the distance. Some other features not to miss are whale watching, kayaking, and the excellent restaurants around the island. Our homestead is a great place to rest, recharge and sink in. There is no longer an outdoor kitchen for use and due to fire hazard/liability the sauna is not for use either.10 acres of meadows, forest, garden, pond and seasonal stream on Orcas Island, WA! Camp in a grove of cedars or in a meadow by the pond. Campfires (until the burn ban in late July/August), a swimming pond early in the summer, and serene forest and meadows to chill in. Ravensong Refuge
The area was beautiful and well equipped. The Back field is more rugged but open and so beautiful. The front field has some lights a sink and a wonderful pond with a porch and a porta potty. So grateful for the time we get there.

Wish it was disclosed that the port-a-potty was unusable, as well as the pond. Lots of bugs due to the stagnant water. Otherwise an okay experience but would not return.

Ravensong Refuge
The camping area is a clearing in the woods at someone's property. No shower, but there is a nice lake where you can swim and rinse off. Couldn't find the outdoor toilet. Expensive for what you get, but it's an expensive place anyways. This camp is a good backup option if other camping areas are fully booked.

Ravensong Refuge
Beautiful land and nice location. The small pond and meadow create a dreamy atmosphere in the evenings. I would definitely return.

Ravensong Refuge
Peaceful and simple tent site
Really enjoyed our stay! Simple site and appreciated the potable water sink, table, and outdoor string lights. Only used the bathroom (which was a porta potty) a couple times, was pretty full but seemed to be composting well and didn't smell that bad. Take care of your own trash as well. Wouldn't have personally swam in the pond there, was murky and many creatures in it, some people did go in, but it was there and pretty to look at! Working on a shower and sauna there and I think some people used it. Beautiful trees and a very calm energy to the area. If you're looking for a simple tent site I would definitely recommend. Easy 10 min drive to Eastsound and good base to explore from. Thank you for having us!

Ravensong Refuge
Super Rustic
Our stay at Ravensong Refuge was unique, and pretty in its own way. We stayed in the meadow which was lovely, and far from where we parked. We were car camping so lugging everything that distance was unexpected. There are no picnic tables at the "sites," so we improvised. Yes there is a sink, but I didn't see showers or lights that others mentioned. The porto potty is heaping full. All peeing is done in the woods. The nights are pitch black and beautiful. There was live music - drumming practice I think - coming from the house. It's a very mixed experience.
