Orcas Island at large is a special place to connect with Nature and healthy ecosystems. Moran state park on the east side of the island is a fabulous evergreen rainforest sanctuary with old growth trees and amazing lakes to explore. Turtleback mountain is on the west side (close to us) and is a sacred mountain full of oak trees and splendid views of the surrounding islands, including Vancouver island in the distance. Some other features not to miss are whale watching, kayaking, and the excellent restaurants around the island. We have two camping areas, one down around our pond and back meadow and the other is up near the bathhouse and outdoor kitchen by the garden. Both zones have a variety of sites on grass or cleared and level patches in the cedar forest. We have composting outhouses in various locations and the bathhouse has a shower room, claw foot tub soaking room, and a laundry room. We've been on this land for since 2007 and it is well setup for campers and our seasonal renters in our yurts and cabins.Above the garden is our shop where we build tiny homes and cabins for the San Juan Islands.Check out cascadiahomesteads.com for more info on our cottage industry.

I was very happy to be able to get a campsite in an otherwise booked up area. The site was beautiful with big trees, overlooking a meadow & pond. The only drawback was a long walk to the restroom, but it was a lovely walk! The host was timely & helpful. I enjoyed my stay very much.
Ravensong is a incredible spot. Our campsite simply could not have been any better. It is tucked away in the trees that opens into a clearing and sits right next to a pond. The night sky was clear with stars and the morning was so lovely and quiet. There's a dock to dangle your feet off of and a huge bench that we actually used as a table as well since we made breakfast on it. The property is so incredible. Erin and Issa were both so lovely. Issa gave me a tour around the property. His structures (he is a phenomenal carpenter and designer) were absolutely stunning and so much thought has been put into every piece here. I am already hoping to be back soon. I can't recommend this place enough!
We had a really easy and lovely stay as a two night stopover on our bike trip. The outdoor kitchen and shower/laundry and beautiful gardens and grounds made it very easy with our toddler, and everyone we encountered was super friendly and respectful. Happy to recommend.
