The property is a flat beachfront with 200ft Columbia river frontage located on Puget Island in Cathlamet, Washington with panoramic views.  Campers can enjoy private access to beach and privacy during their stay. The island was named for Peter Puget, a lieutenant in the Vancouver Expedition of exploration, which first mapped the island in 1792. Puget Island's Robert W. Little Preserve is home to a population of endangered Columbian white-tailed deer. You can walk the beach, kayak the Columbia River, or ride bikes on miles of flat Puget Island roads. There's also hiking, swimming in the Columbia on our beach, fishing, wild life viewing that entails many bird species (hawks, eagles, white tail deer). Long Beach on the Pacific ocean is 1 hour away. During your stay, you'll even see ships cruise by very closely.  The property has easily accessible no matter the size of your RV and there's plenty of room to park multiple vehicles. Beach access is at west end of property. Very good cell service. Plenty of room  for your rv and your boat. Boat launch just around corner or at cathlamet marina.

A Wonderful View
Our stay at RC Island was outstanding. The site was spacious and allowed us the opportunity to park our trailer in a way so that we could take advantage of our biggest window to enjoy the view. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We were able put our kayak in basically right at the site and we could take day trips to Astoria and Gnat Creek.

Right on the river
This place is great. Right on the river in the shipping lane. Big boats going by every now and then. Fog horns at night. Mornings are calmest for kayaking. Beware the confluences. Afternoons get windy, we were not able to have a fire. Maybe when it’s warmer. We did one day where we could sit outside bundled up. Patty Cakes in town is great for breakfast. We took a day trip to Astoria and Fort Clatsop. Another option is Cape Disappointment and Fort Canby. Or even up into Long Beach. I highly recommend the tiny Ferry to Oregon and a hike Gnat Greek. Randy was great. Met us on arrival and let us do our thing for text four days.

Beautiful setting on the Columbia
Nice spot right next to the Columbia River, with a short trail to the water. Near the road, but cars are rare. Clean outhouse with separating composting toilet. Randy came out to greet us, but then we had the spot to ourselves. Good 30A electrical hookup. Recommended!

Peaceful camp spot with a view!
Randy and his wife have a slice of heaven right on the river. You can sit by the fire and watch huge ships sail by. When the tide is low there is a beach you can walk on. The entire island is very quiet, with next to zero traffic. We rode our electric trikes 6 miles in a loop and only passed one car. The site has a nice clean outhouse, fire pit, 30 and 50 amp hookups, and water. We parked our trailer at an angle so we could see ships pass by right from inside. Great hosts, great site, great location. We will be back!
