Sol Duc campground is one of the most beautiful places I have ever camped. Nestled along the Sol Duc River in Northwest Olympic National Park, the campground is enveloped in a lush fairytale-like forest with every shade of green. The camp sites are all very well maintained by the National Park Service. One of the great things about camping in Olympic is that the abundance of trees gives every campsite a fair amount of privacy.
A short hike from the campground is Sol Duc Falls. It's absolutely worth it for how easy it is to get to from the campground. If you're up for a more lengthy hike, you can continue past Sol Duc Falls to hike Lover's Lane.

We had 4 kids with us, so I booked the spot that looked like it had the most room for kids to run around. (I booked in advance as most of these spots get booked pretty early) The site was cramped and we didn't have much room to run. Luckily there were trails and the hot springs close by to get the energy out. This isn't the spot for relaxing camp adventures in nature, the place was pretty full and there was lots of people everywhere. The park itself was beautiful and I would love to return to visit more of it.

For a quiet soak in the hot tub pools, head over after dinner and you'll practically have the place to yourself.

It was pretty full so we had to spend a night off site eating for an opening. It was July but still chilly at night and we were able to watch fireworks over the water from one of the hiking trails. So close many trailheads that the first day we did little hikes to acclimate then did longer, bigger hikes over the week. A beautiful camp area with gorgeous scenery everywhere.
Beautiful campground right by the river - I think we stayed on campsite #5 when we backpacked around the Seven Lakes area. I loved waking up to the streaming river. It was so peaceful, and the people on the trail were incredibly friendly!
