Staying at Old Oly Hops Farm in the 1963 Gillig School Bus "The Highliner" is a unique throwback experience. The bus is fully furnished with kitchen, small fridge/freezer, bathroom, shower/tub, and queen sized bed. Propane powers the gas range and oven plus a small water heater and space heater. FYI, the ceiling in the bus is 6' (1.83meters). Renovated into a complete not so tiny home, the bus sits in the corner of a 3 acre Organic Hops Yard with 300+ hops bines growing to 18' over the coarse of the summer. A fire pit, charcoal grill, and plenty of wood stump or chair seating will pull you outside! Uncle Chuck sells firewood onsite and charcoal is included. Summer climate in Sequim and Carlsborg is sunny and temperate, with average daytime temperatures in the 70's and night times in the 50's. To the southwest the Olympic Mountains provide shelter from the rains of the rest of the region. A couple of miles to the north is Canada, and the cool breezes of the Strait of Juan De Fuca. There is an infinite number of activities to do in the region from Olympic National Park, to the Olympic Game Farm and the Dungeness Spit National Wildlife Refuge. Old Oly Organic Hops Farm off Old Olympic Highway has multiple varieties of fruit trees to pluck when in season. Guests are welcome to use the space around the hops yard for stretching your legs and exploring. Your corner of the farm provides quiet evenings and mornings, and if you listen carefully you can hear Matriotti Creek flowing just 300' away. The sweet scent of lavender often accents the cool ocean breeze as an amazing Lavender Farm sits next door and welcomes guests for free tours. Come find the old rural lifestyle still alive on the Olympic Peninsula!

The 63’ Highlander Bus out in Sequim was just what I was looking for, a weekend getaway for glamping with the family, however, it was much much more than glampping! Karl was a perfect host, greeting us upon arrival and even going as far as helping us set up a campfire for smores. The bus had all essential needs such as towels, shampoo, dining ware, some pots, some seasonings, and coffee!! The queen bed in the back was very comfy as well as the cushions on the couches. We had two adults with three children under 4 years old so we had plenty of room inside the bus and outside for hanging out. I would have to say my favorite part of our stay was waking up to the beautiful sunrise over the fields! The bus is located in a perfect area close to lots of outdoor activities, we went hiking around lake crescent, to a street fair in Port Angeles, relaxed at the bus making smores, and toured the next door neighbors lavender farm, B&B farm, during our stay. We hope to return and highly recommend this spot to others!
The Bus is perfect! It’s so cute and has everything you need. You’re right next to the hops field and wide open fields (great sunset views!). Karl is the kindest host and so helpful. There’s a beautiful lavender farm next door that you can hop over to for a free tour. We’ll definitely be back!
Hands down this is the best Hipcamp site I have stayed at to date. Karl is an excellent host and has taken care of everything for you in advance. From all the tools needed to cook on the grill, over the fire, or on the stove inside, to wifi, to a nice shower, he's thought of it all. Can't recommend this site enough.
I can’t say enough positive things about the bus! What a special place Karl’s created! It is so comfortable and everything you could ever need- running hot water, flush toilet, electricity, heaters, comfortable bed and linens, fully stocked kitchen, gas stove, fire pit, charcoal grill, lawn games, beautiful sunrises, a lavender farm with free tours next door, you name it! Also, Karl was an incredibly accommodating and friendly host. Highly recommend staying here.
Our stay was nothing short of relaxing. Karl has carved out an incredibly beautiful and well-appointed space in Sequim to unwind from the hectic stress of work and everyday life. From the picnic table and fire pit outside to the perfectly outfitted interior of the bus, we were able to experience the outdoors with all the creature comforts of home. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend on the farm.
We had so much fun on the farm even though we only stayed 1 night. Loved picking fresh cherries off the cherry tree, and walking to the lavender farm next door. This place has so much character and absolutely recommend! My favorite hipcamp/Airbnb this far!
Karl was an awesome host. He stayed late to tell us all of the details about the bus. Whenever we needed anything Karl was quick to help. The area is very peaceful and is great for relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay.
