---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Play in Hood River during the day, relax in the country at night. We're 6.5 miles up in the hills,  called High Prairie, above the sleepy town Lyle.  The Loft is a stand alone building, Loft is one good size room, including a queen size bed, lounge chair and dresser. Has A/C in the summer and wall heather for the winter.

Below the loft: Enjoy the bathroom with well water, toilet, sink and shower is just a few steps below the loft (in the garage).

Enjoy the peace on our 5 acre hideaway, wake up with the chickens - we have a rooster just FYI - (and yes we sell fresh eggs :). Take a walk to look at Mt. Adams which is just around the corner. Hiking, biking, kite boarding, windsurfing all within a few miles of reach with never ending opportunities to get your exercise. Just ask for tips.

The land has mostly Oak trees where you can take your nap in your hang matt. The place is easy accessible, far away from all but still close to all Gorge attractions during the day. The town has a nice little convenience store, breakfast place and the Sandbar that has good food and some entertainment.

Grocery shopping is best done in Hood River, White Salmon or The Dalles. Once up here, there isn't much, so come prepared.

I'll send more detailed information upon arrival.

Thanks for visiting, hope we get to meet :)

Nadja's German-prairie-style loft has a lot of potential for it being a new site. We stayed a night in this very minimal basic loft. We brought an air mattress and used the mattress pads that were provided. There is a full bath in the basement of the loft and a space that serves as a kitchenette, or you can make your meals outside on one of the tables. Overall, the loft has a simple and rustic feel. The site is very 'prairie' like wih Mt. Saint Helens in the background and friendly chickens roaming freely. Nadja was very communicative and made us feel welcome despite her being away at that time.

Parking, picnic table area and way up to the loft. The loft and garage. Entrance to the garage that includes a full bathroom. High Prärie Loft

This was our first experience booking through Hipcamp and we are so glad we found Nadja's place. Her property is absolutely gorgeous and a welcome escape from the noise of the city. She provides everything you need for a "glamping" experience - basic loft with electricity, heater, and mini-fridge. There is a cooking area set up in the garage below the loft, plus a bath/shower combo - all lifesavers considering the unpredictable weather this time of year in the PNW. It's about a 15-30 minute drive to a bunch of great hikes in the area, although we also enjoyed simply spending time on Nadja's property with her friendly chickens! I cannot express enough how sweet Nadja and her family were - communicative, friendly, and super hospitable.

We had the best time at Nadja’s Hideaway. The property was beautiful. We were nestled between Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helen’s. Lots of very picturesque views! I loved that no food went to waste thanks to Nadja’s adorable and friendly chickens. We were safe from the unpredictable weather and very cozy due the the mattress pads Nadja provided. On our last day we were surprised with German pancakes. Wow they were such a yummy treat. Me and my little family had the best time and would recommend this cozy little place to anyone looking to get out of the city.

Nadja's loft was a sweet, quiet place to spend the weekend. The space was minimal and tidy, and provided a relaxing retreat from daily life. The location is great for enjoying the rest of the gorge, and has its own character distinct from Hood River.

While summer days can be quite warm, the breeze cools quickly in the evening. Nadja provides a couple fans, and opening the door helps get the loft cooled down.

Nadja is extraordinarily hospitable and helpful, and provided an air mattress (a recent addition). Her friendly chickens added to the rural charm. In the evenings, we enjoyed stargazing - the nights were clear, and without city lights, we had an amazing view. Speaking of views - keep an eye out on your way back down Centerville Highway from Nadja's place; there are some amazing view of the gorge and Mount Hood. On our last day, Nadja made a German cheesecake to share, which was wonderful!

Let’s call it beyond glamping. Super cute accommodations, and super comfortable .
Very comfortable air mattress, our awesome host Nadia actually got air-conditioner set up for us since the temperature outside was In the 90s when we arrived . Nice bathroom . Good kitchenette area...Cups plates pans ... we actually never used the outdoor grill/griddle, But it looks like it’s hooked up to gas and fully set to go .
Beautiful high Prairie views out your window and your entry door.
Best hostess ever! Nadja is super personable, and very fun to hang out with . She is also a wealth of information on the area, she sent us on probably our favorite hike ever.
She shared coffee and great company with us most every morning we were there . Very much enjoyed hanging with our awesome hostess and very much Enjoyed our time Beyond Glamping in the Columbia Gorge .

Response from Nadja, the Host, on August 13th, 2019

I knew I'm going to meet great folks by being a host. But Jim and Julie were the guests you never wanted to leave again. This was my first booking for more than two nights and I enjoyed every minute of it. They could move right in and build a village with me, that's how comfortable I felt with them. I had wonderful people come through so far, no doubt but this was extra special. I sure hope they find their way back to me, I'll be waiting with open arms, no to forget my dog Pearl missing them as well and so are the chickens. Thanks for making hosting so much fun and motivating :)

Nadja's loft was a wonderful retreat and a much needed escape. She was a supurb host and wonderful to chay with. The loft was very clean as were the provided kitchenette and bath. From the doorway you can see the peak of Mt Adams as the sunsets. I visited while working remotely and while cell reception could be spotty, i was able to stay connected thanks to the provided internet connectivity. The fresh eggs from the chichens were fantastic so definitely inquire about those. The high prairie is beatiful for gravel or road riding, as well as hiking with the klickitat river trail and the Columbia hills nature preserve close by. There are also plenty of water activities in and around Hood River and the Dalles as well as breweries amd food.

We cannot recommend staying with Nadja enough!! I stayed here with two of my friends for one of our birthdays- it was a wonderful experience. The land itself was super beautiful, with access to many beautiful spots, but the best part was how kind and attentive Nadja was as a host. We truly felt so cared for the whole time- it was like coming home! Plus, the loft was super cozy and it was nice to have the experience of camping without having to set up a tent or anything. But definitely make SURE to get her delicious German pancakes! They were so incredible- we will be coming back for more! Thank you Nadja!

We had a great time at Nadja's place! Her little cute cabin had everything we needed, it was extremely clean and well kept. The small bathroom downstairs was a huge plus - very clean with hot shower. Our kids had a blast playing with the animals and zipline/swing in the yard.
Nadja was welcoming and super friendly, not to mention the delicious pancakes served for breakfast (at a small charge).
We felt very safe there as she was following the Covid-19 guidelines, we will definitely come back! Thanks you for being such a great host!
