If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We were severely disappointed based on this misleading listing. There are not nine sites as listed, there are over 50! We messaged our host asking for a private site and got placed in the middle of everyone. We had 6 sites less than 40 feet away from us (close enough to see full facial details) and over 12 sites in site. Screaming children, loud parties, dogs barking, train, plane and gold cart sounds were the soundtrack to our "relaxing" getaway. Be warned if you have dog allergies or anxiety, pets are allowed at this property, contrary to the listing details. While convienent, we were surrounded by porta-potties in every direction and the smell could not be escaped. The land itself could have been extremely beautiful, if it was not severely over developed. Too many sites crunched in together and wide paths throughout. We intended to renew ourselves while connecting to nature, sadly we had to leave the property to do this. The hosts were very business like, although not very friendly. They didn't know the listing details and I had to insist upon our included firewood. They have a large lobby filled with supplies, just be prepared to pay. $6 firewood, $3 shower tokens, $1 instant coffee and so on. We left after checking in feeling like dollar signs.
Comfortable foam pad
Nice linens (although not down as listed)
Wagons to help you bring gear to your site
Too crowded/Sites extremely close
Strong smell of porta potties
Pay $109 to be surrounded by $45 sites
Nickel and dime'd for everything
Very close to the airport- loud plane sounds often
If your looking for a family getaway, this could be the place for you. Many families camping. Property has a train that tours the land twice a day.
What a lovely place to camp! Every detail is thought out - late ferry arrivals, chilly evenings, forgotten supplies, things for kids to do around the campgrounds - everything!
We rented a lotus bud tent, which is my new favorite thing. It was warm even though the nights were windy, and it was nice and dry despite the rain. We arrived very late at night, and our path was lighted, right to our 'door,' making it very easy to settle in.
The host made an effort to get to know everyone there... even though we hadn't made it to the office during open hours, she knew where we were staying and who we were. She knew the kids' names on the train, and made special effort to make them comfortable and have a good time.
The grounds are very clean and tidy, the native plants thrive between campsites giving you a private feel even if your neighbors are near. Visiting with the farm animals is a treat. I am recommending this place to all of my camper friends - and I'm sure we'll be back! Thank you!
