We get it—when you hit the top of Mount Constitution, the highest point in the San Juan islands, it’s hard to keep your cool. Sleep Midway Camp, the sites closest to the boat launch in Moran State Park’s 5,579-acre camping park, and paradise is just outside your tent. Beyond boating and fishing, the park offers more than 10 miles of hiking, biking and horse-friendly trails.

A little bit more crowded than our Mountain Lake Campground, but still quite lovely. Several trailheads nearby, a boating lodge, a snack shack, boat rentals, bbqs and group picnic area are available. The campground hosts were very kind. There is running water and showers. Firewood on an honor system. The nearest town and gas station are only a short 10 minute drive away.

A bit crowded, the campsites were a bit close together but otherwise well maintained. Facilities were clean and nearby.
