We had a wonderful weekend at Maple Creek Outfitters!! We rented both sites for a truly private camping experience. Campsites are very spacious and private. Dan and Maggie are very gracious hosts!! Its a little slice of heaven and we will be back!!
Dan and Maggie were extremely kind hosts who made us feel taken care of while also respecting our privacy. The campground is one of my favorite camping experiences I've ever had. Pictures dont do it justice! Its one of those places you want to rave about but also not really because you dont want people to know what a hidden gem it is so you can be selfish and keep it all for yourself haha. But seriously if you have a chance to stay here, take it because you wont regret it!

Privacy. River walk. Trails to explore. Easy to find. Great for groups.
This place really had it all, for our group. We booked 3 sites because of our group size. We, and the property owners, wanted to make sure we complied with our states current rules.
As a group of hikers and backpackers, we are able to rough it a little bit, but we didn’t have to here!
We loved the big fire pits, even one on the river!
The solar lights gave just enough light at night to walk between campsites, but not so bright to disturb the stars, or campers trying to sleep.
Picnic tables were at each site, which made kitchen setup a breeze. Tents could be set up on the gravel or on the grass, both were available and utilized.
Dan and Maggie were great hosts, they were in the property, but over 100yards away (we only saw them at check in).
Our group will definitely be back, both as a whole, and as individuals. Being so close to the river, and to the rainforest was just what we needed! Thanks!

We stayed in site #6 and it was one of the best camping spots I’ve ever experienced. It was right next to the lake and had a huge amount of space. The fire pit was surrounded by tiki lamps and there is electric lighting for the walkways. Can’t recommend this place enough! Amazing!!

Dan and Maggie's campsite #4 was private, clean and open. It was a great combination of grass and gravel, flowers, trees and had a sweet little trail to the outhouse and another to quiet spot with bench. There is a huge picnic table and firepit too. We loved being able to drive our Suburu directly down to the river and had bonfires on the riverbank two nights! - observing the sky colors change, the moon shining, river reflecting light.
The campsite is so close to Ruby Beach which was fantastic! And only 16 miles to Bogachiel State Park where there are showers available.
Only thing none of us liked was the outhouse - it is within sight distance of one of the campsites, does not have much privacy (walls do not extend down to ground) or a lock on the door. A normal port-a-pottie would have been preferred.
Otherwise, everything was perfect! Highly recommended.
What a great experience! We absolutely loved the location, site 4.
We were greeted by Dan upon arrival, he was informative and kind. My husband and I haven’t camped for 20 years. Due to Covid we were unable to travel so we booked a few state parks and the campsite with Dan and Maggie. Wasn’t sure what to expect, it turned out to be our favorite location. It felt safe, it was secluded and so beautiful. The beach was peaceful. It was exactly what we wanted. We will be back for sure thank you Dan and Maggie for sharing your little slice of heaven.
Maggie greeted us shortly after arrival and made sure our questions were answered. We were in Site 1, which is the farthest site in, the closest to the river, and immediately adjacent to the outhouse. There are about 7 sites in total from my count. There is one outhouse for all sites which is directly behind Site 1. There is a back trail connecting the other sites to the outhouse in order to avoid having folks walk through our campsite, but we did have a few kids run through the first evening. The campsite itself was huge and could have accommodated quite a few people. The sites are large swathes of sandy gravel, which are nice and level but nearly impossible to stake tents into (there may be sites without hard ground, but you might want to check if your tent requires staking). Each site has a fire pit and a large picnic table. The path to the river is through a locked gate. Initially we thought you could only walk down there, but then saw several cars drive down from the campsites (I would not drive without AWD or 4WD). The river is lovely and there are several fire pits along the stone “beach”. The camp is close to much of what Olympic National Park has to offer, and we had some excellent local day trips. There is no potable water on site. We carried water from the river using the car and purified it ourselves. The river is too far away from the camp to carry water by hand. There are some trails on the property we did not get a chance to explore. Would have liked to stay an extra day or two. Very friendly camp hosts.
Dan and Maggie's property is secluded and absolutely gorgeous. They were very nice and I wish them the most success with Hipcamp! I highly recommend camping there, it was perfect. Another group was staying at another campsite but we couldn't hear any sound other than nature. The best night's sleep I've had in weeks, and very close to Hoh Rain Forest and Olympic.
