First of all, this was my first experience using hipcamp and using a private campsite. I have to say that it all went very smoothly. No complaints using the website or connecting with the host of "Manville", John. He was very responsive via the hipcamp messaging center, email or phone.

The Manville campsite was beautiful. The site was prepped and ready to go with chairs setup, fire pit ready (with matches), some potable water, and even some citronella candles if needed.

John had obviously put a lot of work into making this a clean, gorgeous site even down to the detail of beautifying a little creek at the far end of the property. He added some boulders and river rock in and around the little creek that made it a fun place for the kids to explore.

The open area is plenty big for lots of tents, games, or camper trailers. Lots of room to use or explore. There were a few little trails the kids had fun exploring as well and a disc-golf hole was also available to use for some game time.

The structure on the site provided a great lookout for wild life and would be a great dry place to camp out if you don't have a tent. Just bring an air mattress and sleeping bag! It could sleep 2 or more depending on how cozy you want to get. John did warn us that the steps up to the structure are steep and the back part has no railing so you have to accompany any small children or just not let them climb up it.

The outhouse was clean and functional. It's at the far end of the property (near the little creek) so it is a bit of walk but keeps the unfriendly odors away. Bring a flashlight as it is dark in there. A possible upgrade might be a solar powered LED light to give some light inside.

Our camp out was cut short by the threatening dark clouds and rain on the way...so we decided to pack up and head home early after putting out our campfire. John was very accommodating and willing to work something out for a future visit.

All in all we had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. and will no doubt go to Manville again.

John is an amazing host and we love visiting Manville. There’s so much room for the kids and the dog to run around and be free. The kids especially like playing in what they call the lagoon, a.k.a. the creek. We will definitely be back again. I would recommend this location.

We were so pleased with our stay at Manville. The grounds are Immaculately melt, the little our house is so cute. Nicest out house I’ve been in. Not gross. Normal toilet seat. 👍🏻 I was pleasantly surprised with that.
The host provided ample firewood and some fresh water. Chairs. A few tables. It was amazing!! Made the trip so easy.
The little creek on the property is small, but it didn’t stop us from having a water fight to cool off when it was high 80’s one day.
We’ve never had an entire camp are to ourselves! Zero other campers other than our party. Total privacy. Feels like it’s just you and the rolling fields!
An added bonus... we heard some coyotes singing in the distance! So cool!
