The site was spacious, private, gorgeous views, welcoming hosts who went above and beyond to have all amenities available including firewood, lighter, kindling, and even a charging station pre-charged by a generator. So many cool trails as well. Highly recommended and would stay here again!

Everything here was amazing! The campsite was very private, clean and spacious with amazing views. Not to mention, Janet and Dave provided us with everything we would need including fishing supplies, sunscreen, s’mores supplies, etc. the hospitality far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back next Summer!

Absolutely remarkable experience. From the hospitality to the amenities and beautiful scenery....best balance of being outdoors and enjoying all the bounty of nature without being too out in the wild. Hosts Janet and Dave tended to everything with so many personalized touches. They were so accomodating and kind. The loving care of the property and relationship with it is evident. Took little walks on the nearby walking paths. We came in late summer and the golden light at dusk in the trees was beautiful. We took the peddle boat out at sunset and floated in the intertubes we brought in the afternoon. We drove the short drive to Morton our second day, and got lunch, provisions and thrift shopping which was lovely. The weather and water and land was definitely gifting us while there with perfect heat, just a few bugs, eagles (one even greeted us upon our arrival!), bats, owls, hawks, frogs, dogs, adorable kitties (watch out for the more cunning and savage ones as they will *literally* steal your dinner if you're not careful lol). The tree line shadows on the lake....absolutely beautiful. We came when the moon was coming away from being at its fullest in early September which was perfect. Little touches we completely loved and appreciated lots: there's a brief uphill walk from the campsite to the top of the property where the port-a-potty is located but it's not terrible and to get our gear up and down there was an ATV (lifesaver). Loved the availability of: a canoe + paddles, peddle boat, a portable way to charge our phones and bluetooth speaker, bug spray/sunscreen, a fully charged pump for our bed and intertubes, a canopy, a beautiful firepit, citronella candles, a propane lantern, Adirondack chairs, lots of nearby shade in the woods where the trails are, fishing poles (and bait!). Our hosts even provided a welcome basket with stuff for smores, candy, popcorn, wine, and games ^_^

We loved loved loved our stay at the getaway, will remember it always, and definitely want to return.

Janet and Dave's space was perfect for our weekend getaway. Janet and Dave are phenomenal hosts! The site was equipped with anything you could need while camping (firewood, air mattress pump, a grill, water toys, and much more!) They were incredibly hospitable and kind during our stay. My partner and I camped over the weekend to celebrate what was supposed to be our wedding weekend (thanks a lot COVID), and Janet baked us a beautiful cake to celebrate with. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this space and the hosts were. We will definitely be returning!

Janet and Dave are the most kind and accommodating hosts we've ever encountered on Hipcamp (or any other site for that matter). Their space is incredible; Being right next to the water with the beautiful views day and night, plenty of boats to paddle out on, and nice touches to make camping comfortable. To top it all off, kittens, goats, and a peacock for all to enjoy! Although one less kitten now because they offered, and we took one home! A unique experience, already looking forward to returning in 2021!

Gorgeous spot with plenty of amenities. Canoe, kayak, fishing, smore supplies, an extra stove. Everything you'll need to be comfortable and have fun. And the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. There when we needed them and out of sight otherwise. Just be careful, they have a ton of adorable kittens and your wife may want to take one home at the end of the trip :-)
