"Kulshan" Tent-Site - Valley Views
Peaceful, scenic mountain views
Very quiet & peaceful. Beautiful views across the mountains from the campsite (sunrise & sunset were lovely). We ended up staying at the Loowit site rather than Kulshan as per Kellie’s kind suggestion (colder winter weather meant the path up to Kulshan was a bit icy). It worked out well for us as we were able to drive close to the site in our 4WD (Dodge RAM). I was a little confused by the instructions on Hipcamp for the pit toilet, but then discovered that a small pit toilet (covered by a wooden board) had been dug a short walk from the site which was actually even more convenient!
Would definitely stay here again. It was a great base for visiting Winthrop for the balloon roundup, only about a 20ish minute drive. We even had some mobile reception (T-mobile).

Beautiful spot, worth the cons!
Pros: Really really beautiful and unique spot! Cows!
Cons: Don't arrive after the sun sets. I had a REALLY hard time finding the right address and camp site in the dark despite my headlamp. I got turned around and struggled with the instructions/landmarks. Several dogs were out when I arrived and followed me barking around the property (kind of scary in the dark). I expected a bit more of a trail to the campsite up the final hill but was instead walking through knee high bushes and grass - wear long pants. I also found a black widow spider at the campsite but left it alone and survived 😁
