Come visit Puget Island !

Easy get away for kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, boating... any sport on the water, or just getting out and about.  Have a boat?  Bring it !  Camp spot includes  a boat house right on the slough .  Sleep on your boat, on the dock, in your tent, or better yet, the brand new tiny tiny house!  Great for a weekend get away or temporary escape while your house is full.  Great location for biking, walking, birdwatching...  Relax and enjoy the outdoors on Puget Island.

Located approximately 1/4 mile up the slough from the Columbia River, and a mile from the island's boat launch.   This is a 'dry camping' spot, so no fresh running water for showers, but location and house is fully loaded with power.   Some fresh water is provided for washing up  - a 5 gallon water jug is on site.   No bathroom other than a brand new porta potty.   It's camping with a cushy comfy bed indoors - Glamping!   Location is on a quiet roadside, and right on the slough with great water access.   Portable fire pit with 4 chairs, hand washing station, porta-potty outside, with everything you need to wake up happy, inside... comfortable queen bed, coffee maker, fridge, and microwave, as well as basic dishes.

Bring your toys, or just yourself and relax by the water!

We had a great time! The property was in excellent condition, everything appearing new for the most part. We wouldn’t hesitate booking again or recommending it to friends.

My wife and I stayed at the Welcome shack for three days and had an incredible time. It was so quiet and peaceful with friendly neighbors. We walked around the island, fished and just relaxed. I would highly recommend this spot to get away from the world outside. The shack is very comfortable, even on the rainy day we spent inside playing games. Everything you need is there at the shack and there is a general store and even a couple restaurants just a short drive across the bridge if there is anything else you need. Thank you for allowing us to stay here! We loved it!

Great stay at the Welcome Shack! Jeanine is a wonderful host and has thought of everything to make this glamping stay comfortable. Lots of bird watching and the horses down the street were VERY friendly. The boat house made it super easy to get in and out of the water in our kayaks. Cathlamet nearby was a good spot to grab take out or a beer at the local brewery. Astoria is also a 30 min drive away once you get off the ferry! Thank you Jeanine!

Our original plans for the weekend fell through, leaving us without a place to stay. I contacted Jeanine and we were able to secure her place the same day. She was very communicative and accommodating! What started as a hectic hiccup of a weekend turned out to be a relaxing get away on the river with our pups. Would definitely recommend!

We had a change in plans and decided to stay last minute at Jeanine’s rental. Such a cute and lovely tiny home. We had a great stay, it was convenient for what we wanted to do for the two day stay and Jeanine made quick last minute accommodations which we very much appreciated. E
