Welcome to Tranquil Acres where our backyard becomes yours. Located in the heart of the peninsula, we have transformed our five acres into four amazing campsites for everyone and anyone can enjoy and unwind.

Campsites are equipped with fire pits, flat areas for tents of any size, and room to roam. Don't have a tent? No Problem! Message me for more info on how you could turn your camping experience into a glamping one.

Throughout the property, there are many unique areas to venture and hang out, trails to explore, hammocks for midday naps and of course, fishing and swimming in the beautiful Big Quilcene River. We can always show off some of our favorite local spots to you as well if you are looking for adventures.

Pretty relaxed and easy, we hope you enjoy the simplicity of camping here in our peaceful paradise. If you have any questions, need more info or just want to see more of the property, please don't be afraid to send me a message.

Depending on where you want to camp there are four possible campsites to choose from. Please note that all sites are equipped with a firepit and bug repelling tiki torches, as well, sites 1-3 have picnic tables.

Site 1- Our largest of the four, perfect for larger groups (please inquire about groups more than four so we can accommodate) and our most central campsite. Be closest to the slack line and horse shoes that are located in the field.

Site 2- Directly across from site 1, site 2 is also ready to host up to 4 people. Included are two hammocks for lounging on sunny days!

Site 3- Tucked in the trees and closest to our "poop hut" is site 3. A little bit smaller than our previous spots but still big enough to fit 2-3 people.

Site 4- Our personal favorite is site 4, best for a romantic weekend getaway for two!  Really wanting to shut out the rest of the world and be one with nature? Then you have found your campsite! After following a quick trail off the beaten path, you will find this site along side the river, making it not only our most secluded site, but also our only site on the water. With that being said, we do not allow children at number 4 due to the deep river waters.

All places offer an outstanding experience far from sounds of traffic and busy lives. Great place to see the stars and identify constellations with no light pollution. The night sounds are awesome, too.

My friends and I loved our stay at Tranquil Acres. The land is about 7 acres with options of camping in the woods under the trees or along the Quilcene river. We decided to camp close to the river.

The host met us when we arrived and kindly loaded all of our belongings in her car to take them down to the campsite. My car is not equipped to handle the steep, unpaved hill that leads down to the campsites and river. It's about a half a mile down to the river, so be prepared to walk and travel light, or have a car that is 4wd. Even a car with 4wd may have a hard time coming back up the hill as it is very steep.

GPS directions guided us correctly to Shawn's property - just keep your eyes peeled for the small house number sign off of Highway 101.

Staying at Tranquil Acres was an awesome way to finish out the summer. We enjoyed sitting by the the fire pit, listening to the soothing sounds of the river, and watching the wildlife. Our stay was during the salmon's spawning season. It was incredible to watch the salmon fight to swim upstream - they are troopers! Fishermen were near the river periodically, but they are were all friendly and very respectful of our campsite. Otherwise our campsite was secluded.

Pro tip: I highly recommend checking out the great atmosphere and delicious cider of Finnriver Farm & Cidery before or after you stay. It's about 20 minutes away from Quilcene. We had a great brunch at the 101 Brewery at Twana Roadhouse just down the road from Tranquil Acres when we were on our way home.

Had a great stay at a beautiful location. Isolated and private, and that was exactly what we were looking for. We stayed at site 2, and it was located on a beautiful river. Shawn was courteous and very hospitable, and made us feel right at home. Can’t wait for another opportunity to visit.

Tranquil Acres was a lovely spot along the river in Quilcene. There was plenty of room near the river for a few tents and accompanying campers. There was also a spot nestled in the trees away from the river, providing a more sheltered option for a campsite.

The path/road down from the hosts home to the campsites is pretty steep in the beginning, and about 1/4 to 1/2 mile walk. Pack efficiently and wear good shoes, or have an SUV to get you and your gear down to your campsite.

Shawn was responsive and welcoming as a host. There were fishermen along the bank of the river both when we arrived and in the AM, so depending on fishing season, it may not be 100% private. However, watching the salmon swim upstream was a highlight of visiting this spot in Mid-September.

Overall, beautiful land, and welcoming host!

Absolutely loved staying in this magical little bit of forest. I was greeted upon arrival by my sweet host, she showed me the tent that was set up for me to camp in and then took me down the trail to the river. The campsite provided a table, sitting area, and bon fire pit but there is also one available down by the river. Perfect spot to watch salmon come through during salmon season, or just build a bon fire and cook some dinner while hanging out with friends by the fire.

It was only a bit chilly out, thankfully and by nightfall a slight rain snuck in. I started a fire in the rain but soon felt silly, so I decided to call it a night. The tent available was spacious, two cots inside with plenty of space for additional cots or sleeping bags. I stayed warm and cozy during the night. Lots of lovely birds sang through the forest and I just loved how secluded I was tucked away into the woods back here.

I drive a honda CRV AWD (all wheel drive) and was able to drive down the steep hill to the camp area. Driving up was tricky since it was wet, so I suggest if you are out here in the rainy season, stay parked at the top! There is not a toilet here, so make sure to pack it out. There is a shower just minutes down the road at the Quilcene marina, just make sure to bring a few quarters for hot water.

If you feel like exploring outside of the property, you're in luck. You're right there at the backdoor of the Olympic National Forest. I went up on a short drive to a mountain overlook and it was absolutely gorgeous. There are hiking trails galore!! It is gorgeous. In town, you can always go down to the marina and put a boat in or fish, whatever suits your fancy.

Overall, this is just such a wonderful spot, I can't recommend it enough!! Very peaceful and relaxing as well as gorgeous and engaging. Check it out :)

Shawn was lovely to interact with and the site was gorgeous and secluded despite not being far from 101. You couldn’t hear anything but the river and birdsong. She brought us down to the site in her SUV, and I wouldn’t recommend going down the steep dirt road without a high clearance 4wd vehicle. Great experience and restful night before our backpack trip to Mt Townsend.

This site was everything we excepted and more. The hosts are the kindest and people who truly care about their visitors. This site is truly a gem. The access to the river is very easy once at the sites themselves. It is very clean and each spot has its own little charm! You can te the owners have taken care of this space and I can only hope those that visit will also take care of it as well. Even when it started to rain and others left, the owners came out to check on us to make sure we were ok! Truly sweet. I can’t wait to go back and take another dip into the river!

You will see fisherman coming through and if you park your car by the house it is a steep steep trek down. The fisherman mind their own and the walk down (and eventually back up) is worth it. Great location for camping.

A dreamy, beautiful spot right on the river! The site was spacious and well-maintained. We loved being lulled to sleep by the sound of the water and had a gorgeous, sunny breakfast followed by some fly fishing practice. There's a prep bar, stump seats and big fire pit right by the river, making for easy meals and hangin' out.

Shawn was lovely and proactive with communication, making it an easy arrival. We drove down the rugged path in our Subaru Crosstrek just fine! We stayed here for just one night, but look forward to coming back soon. :) Thanks again, Shawn!
