Last stop before Stevens Pass! Welcome to the Iron Goat Getaway, a whimsical cabin in the mountains just 6 miles from the ski lifts at Stevens Pass & 40 miles from the Bavarian Town of Leavenworth. Partially off-grid, the cabin has hot showers & a full kitchen, with a rechargeable battery-bank to provide minimal electricity for lights and phone chargers- leave other electric appliances behind. The mountains are calling, & your base camp in the woods awaits!

The spaceAfter a full day skiing Stevens Pass or hiking in the Enchantments, you'll love stripping off your boots and firing up the cozy Regency wood stove in your very own mountain getaway! With a master queen bedroom, a loft with two full beds, and a open floorplan kitchen-dining-living room you'll find the Iron Goat Getaway comfortable for up to 6 guests.

The cabin is partially off-grid, with hot running water, two bathrooms, and a comfortable kitchen. It is not connected to city electricity, but provides minimal electricity off a bank of batteries, recharged by a remote-start diesel generator. Cell service is also extremely limited, as there are only a few places on the property where you can get a reliable signal through the trees.

As finding and accessing the cabin can be difficult in the snowy winter months, and the cabin is partially off grid, it is important to be prepared, plan well, and follow all host directions to ensure a comfortable and safe stay.

During the winter Skykomish and Stevens Pass can get multiple feet of snow with very short notice, making the cabin a winter wonderland for the well prepared guest. There is a plowed driveway for 1-2 vehicles just 50 yards from the cabin, and a plowed parking lot just 200 yards away for over-size or additional cars. 4 wheel drive or tire chains are required on highway 2 during winter months.

There is no garbage service at the cabin - please pack out your trash and recycling.

This cabin is cute and quaint with the perfect decor for the area. It felt like the hosts picked every item on the walls exactly for this cabin. It lived up to all expectations, I only wish it was a bit further from the road.

We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and appreciated all of the very detailed labels around the cabin: where to get cell service, how to start the oven pilot light, reminders not to drink the water (they provided water in jugs), how to start the generator (if needed) and more.

The bed was SO comfortable, great after a day of hiking or skiing. And the option of starting a fire indoors made it super cozy.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend this cabin if you’re looking for a good home base for outdoor activities. It’s not too far from Leavenworth, but also feels very remote (partially due to the lack of cell service).

The cabin was clean and decorated well. Ut came stocked with all the essentials (cooking supplies, blankets/towels, grill). We enjoyed sitting out on the deck, though it was directly over looking hwy 2 and there was a lot of road noise. The electricity lasted us all weekend. The fridge wasn't working during our stay so make sure to come with a cooler of ice for any perishables.

Lovely and comfy cabin! And well stocked with games, provisions, supplies and equipment. Great access to hiking trails and Steven's pass. Only minor issues: phone connectivity isn't great, no wifi, and noise/vibration due to proximity from hwy 2
