A place to pitch a tent with a view
Beautiful views on a quiet hillside with a clean, very simple place to pitch your tent. The campsite was a small gravel pad just at the edge of the dirt road up to the host’s house.. The outhouse was a short walk up the driveway. The views of the Columbia River were incredible and we took a short walk along the dirt road where sage bushes were growing, which was pretty.
Note that you will need to be careful about inputting the directions into Google maps with no town but the zip code instead, because it’s easy to get sent to a nearly identical address about 45 minutes away. We had trouble finding the place and the host was very helpful in getting us directions.
Such a beautiful property...
Story’s landing pad property has the best views of the Columbia and surrounding mountains. What a wonderful property so private and quiet. We will definitely stay there again. We were there for 3 nights and loved it. Takes about 20 minutes off 97 but it’s well worth the drive. Thank you for having us.

A peaceful weekend
My wife and I had a wonderful, quiet stay at the Landing Pad. Sitting at the Pad offered great views and wonderful birdwatching. The site was just as described. Our hosts have spread a nice gravel pad to camp on that's so much nicer than the dirt and dust found at some sites. The host was great at communicating before and during our trip. We'd go back!
This Landing Pad was an incredible night in the mountains. The views were unbelievable and the host was kind. The description matches the camp. I would love to return to this place, but I would recommend having a strong suspension on your car because the drive up the mountain was incredibly bumpy - but worth it. I drive a Scion XB so just know that any car can make it.
