Langley, Washington ~ on the south end of Whidbey Island, sits a waterfront village that enjoys a small-town atmosphere within an hour’s journey (including the car ferry trip) from urban Seattle. This one-square-mile town’s signature characteristics include a quaint, yet trend-setting downtown with stunning gardens, seasonal tourism and energy from visitors, a deep pool of resident artists and performers, artisans in nearly every medium, farmers, community involvement in local government, festivals, beaches, forests, pocket parks, a 250-seat performing arts center that presents local as well as world-class entertainment, a vibrant marina, and an eclectic food scene–with a population of approximately 1,050. (stated beautifully on its website)

Just 6 short miles from this village… sits a different kind of village…a village for healing. Its sits atop a hill, up a dirt road where you will find a red, white, and blue farmhouse.  A place where grief is honored… no matter where you are in the process, or how much time has passed.

A space that we have been creating since my husband left his earthly body.  A space to feel all the feels, a space of stillness, a space of peace. A space to heal what was broken.  A space to dream a new dream.  That dream for me is to build a sanctuary of love, acceptance, and healing!... A space for festivals, retreats, and classes of all modalities of healing.

The first step in making that dream come true is opening up our property for all to enjoy and infuse the land with energy of happiness and love!  Because who doesn’t love camping! 😊    There will be several setups (for extra fee) for glam-ping… show up with food and whatever else you might want... and your lodging will be waiting for you, with crackling fire started if you like…. Think camping without the set-up OR tear down!  (See Pictures)

There will also be several DRY CAMPING spots for RV’s/Trailers/Tiny house to pull in and go play.   These will not have any hooks up.  We will have a port a potty on property for campers use.

Campers will have access to a private beach w/boat launch.  Feel free to bring small boats or kayaks – Great place to go fishing, crabbing or just enjoy a day on the water.  The beach is sandy and full of treasures!

I look forward to having you at our little slice of heaven!  We are a "420 Friendly" property. This is our home, so let me introduce the characters of Foxglove Acres - Whidbey Island, as you will see us milling about with our daily lives.

Foxglove Acres is a beautiful place in a great location for visiting Whidbey. The site is full of Shelly’s personal touches: fairy lights that come on at night, painted rocks, and little notes carved into trees. There’s so much to discover here! You can tell Shelly is pouring her heart into this place! The sites are clustered closer together than we expected, but the other campers were super friendly. The portable toilets were even clean! The location is also convenient for visiting the super cute Langley!

We are absolutely coming back. Came here with my boo for a one night car-camping getaway. Portable bathrooms were so clean, it was quiet and a perfect base for going out to explore the surrounding area. The hosts were lovely and communicative. We also liked how small the overall camp is, so it felt easy to control our exposure to other people during Covid-19. Bonus—if you kayak or want to hang out by the water for a sunset/campfire/maybe picnic with kids, the public beach access park was very close (we walked there in 5-10) to the camping property and perfect for taking your boats in and out, (and there’s a public port-a-potty right by the beach).

Very clean campsite with toilets and water jug at campsite for us. We also really appreciated the umbrella over the picnic table since it was raining Friday when we hanging around camp! Sunset at the beach was incredible!

Shelly went above and beyond to make our camping experience and my son's birthday wonderful! We had a bigger group than her sites would typically fit so she made us a whole new campsite!! The kids had tons of room to run around and we definitely felt secluded in our own little camping world. Every once in awhile, the chickens wandered through and the deer would come by for morning and evening visits. The beach was just a short walk/drive down the hill and most of the time, we were the only ones there! Very enjoyable stay--we will be back again, for sure!

First ill say that we are getting ready to book this spot again in a few weeks! So easy to get to from Seattle! Upon arrival, the property was beautiful! The GPS got us a bit lost so when you arrive, use the location through the hipcamp app (it takes you to the exact location rather than the address listed) we weren't sure what site we were at but Shelly was able to text us and let us know and while we waited, we met Shelly's gorgeous chickens! For real, go meet Clyde!
My partner and I were really pleased to see there was a rainbow flag as you drive up the path as we are queer and always, "proceed with caution" just incase spaces aren't safe for us. We felt so welcome and safe to be an out queer couple on Shelly's property.
The site was SO clean and looked brand new. Each site has its own little charm and its very sweet. There was also a camping water jug (maybe 3-5 gallons of water) for drinking, hand washing, etc.. it lasted us the whole time and the only reason we used it all was to put out the fire before we left.
We opted for the $10 2-person kitchen kit which is SO worth it! We didn't have to worry about bringing ANY kitchen gear. Seriously so worth it.
My partner and I, being the experienced campers we are, forgot ALL OF OUR flashlights. cool.
We were so lucky that Shelly had these cute mason jar lanterns set up for us- seriously saved us so much! The stars were so beautiful at night too! The site has a lot of active wildlife which is very cool! TONS of very cute banana slugs came out at night so watch your step ;) A fox ran right through our campsite around 10:30pm there were deer in the area (in which I yelled, "OH DEAR!" every time!) The ONLY downside to the active animals was that one of the dogs was barking non stop until about 11:30pm but it wasn't an issue by the time we went to sleep.
The property is FULL of wood you can use for fire building and the fire pits are a pretty good size!
The beach access is seriously awesome. You can tell its a local spot and we went at 5:30pm on a weekday and we had the entire beach to ourselves. Bring chairs (not blankets) to sit on because its more of a rocky, barnacle beach. You COULD walk but you'd like yourself a whole lot better if you drive so you dont have to walk back up hill. I found LOTS of cool shells and crabs as well.
Over all I HIGHLY recommend and cant wait to book again next week or so!

Shelly put the hammocks out for us which made stargazing and resting, and A+ activity! Picnic table looked like it was just beautifully built and each site had an umbrella which added a cute charm! Awesome set up! Im a fat person and the camp chair options felt supportive, sturdy, and I could comfortably fit. Tent could be far enough away from the fire that the embers didnt burn small holes inside.

Had an amazing time at this little escape! All the fun of camping with none of the set up/tear down work! Very hospitable hosts welcomed me, and everything at my site was set up upon my arrival exactly as advertised! I recommend getting the "kitchen set up" for the added fee, it helped us a lot and was well worth a little extra $. I also suggest that campers bring something to cut fire wood that you can grab (on site) from the camping property. The tent was very nice, the sleeping cots felt sturdy and very comfortable, and the hammocks were so relaxing i could've fallen asleep staring at the stars! Highly recommend this trip, i only regret staying for just one night! I will be back for sure! Thanks for a great stay!
