This is a great site, with a couple of caveats. First, it has wonderful old trees, a lovely creek (soon to be restored for a past salmon run!) and green grass, a large private camping site with an old brick fire pit and a picnic table, herons, hawks, and other wildlife. It is a huge site, with wide open spaces and beautiful views of the stars and moon on clear nights. Lots of room, trails, and places for people and dogs to explore and play.

Matthew was wonderful, very accommodating and kind, making sure that all was as we expected and wanted. He had firewood and charcoal for us, showed us around, and made sure we knew where folks nearby were in case of an emergency. All around good guy.

The only drawback for us may not be for others--it is not for those who are looking for isolation or a peaceful, quiet spot. The road is very near, and is fairly heavily traveled, and there are numerous trains passing, especially at night. It is also close to a working farm, and we heard both chainsaws and gunfire. It is also close to town, with all the positives and negatives that brings.

The other thing I noted about this spot was its potential for STP folks and other types of large groups traveling. There are numerous places to pitch tents, and it pretty close to the freeway. The location of the fire pit and grill could be used for a community kitchen if a large group of bikers wanted to camp in the meadows. I think marketing this to STP folks would be a great idea.

For folks who are looking for a beautiful site and who don't mind some noise, this is a perfect selection.

We had a really nice stay. The place is just far enough out of town to feel like you’re in the woods, but also super easy to get to. I’d certainly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the area or just looking for a nice spot to camp on their way along I-5. Matthew was super responsive and helpful.

This was a wonderful little spot. Easy walk in across a pretty field, lots of wood available from a very kind and helpful caretaker, Terry. The fire pit was vast and cozy and we were able to cook over it with a little difficulty. Would recommend bringing your own water, but otherwise, described perfectly.

Matthew is a very friendly host and greeted us when we arrived to show us our spot. Offered us extra accommodations and the groundskeeper Terry brought water to us on Saturday which my entire group really appreciated!

The spot is secluded and fun to get to. The creek is a great addition to the scenary and there is the occasional deer hanging out.

The host is so accommodating and even brought us firewood and water. I highly recommend this place for anyone traveling up or down I-5. Super private and beautiful with a big fire pit and a metal grill for cooking.

As the description states, the campsites are primitive here (no restrooms, electricity, or cell service if you have AT&T). But if you’re looking for a place to get away from everything, this is it! The campsites are a short walk from the parking area, which definitely adds to the peaceful feel of the place, not having a bunch of vehicles driving around. My daughter and I spotted a couple deer in the field adjacent to the sites, and although we were located not too far from the main road, we never really heard the traffic since we had an embankment and several trees between us and the road. We were camping in mid-July and the weather was quite warm, but even so, the campsite itself was very well-shaded and kept fairly cool all day.

Also, Matthew was exceptionally helpful and messaged with me several times before we arrived. He was able to answer all my questions and even pointed us to a great local swimming hole. He made sure we were well-stocked with more firewood than we could use, and even brought us water jugs.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting an escape from our crazy modern lives to spend some time with nature!

A friend and I used this site to meet up halfway between Portland and Seattle. We were looking for a place that wasn’t too far off of I5 (for driving time sake) and that allowed us to feel safe and secluded from others (during COVID) times. We had site #3 and had plenty of space to spread out as we were able to put our tents down in the meadow and our kitchen up in the forested area. We commented that this would also be a great hammock site!
Matt and the caretaker Terry were very helpful. They provided water and as much firewood as we wanted for free. Matt even took the time to research some local swimming spots and didn’t mind me texting with questions. Keep in mind that you can still hear the road some at night but it isn’t busy and we still were able to enjoy the beautiful property.

Great spot to hang out with friends by a fire. So private! Stars were amazing, could see the milky way and shooting stars. Convinent location, halfway meeting point between Portland and Seattle. Fiddler's Coffee was our go to run in the morning. Terry and Matthew have created quite the unique oasis. Birds, pond, fruit trees, forrest hangout, tree swing. Would recommend to anyone just looking to get away, hang out, and cook by a fire.
