About Whidbey Island Sheep Camp
We are a family owned and operated Grade A dairy farm on Whidbey Island, committed to sustainable agriculture practices and the production of fine sheep milk cheeses and pasture raised lamb. Located on the lovely eastern coastline of Whidbey Island, our farm has been in the family for three generations. With forest, pasture, ponds and meadows, the farm provides a diversity of high quality habitat for livestock and wildlife. Our family’s goals are to nurture the land, our family, and our livestock through the use of creative, sustainable farming practices and the production of high quality sheep milk cheeses and pasture raised lamb. The main campsite is located near our cheesemaking facility, in the middle of our farm, and is large enough for several tents. There is a shared outhouse, fire ring and shower for everyone to use. No camp fires will be permitted during burn bans.
You will find plenty of hiking, biking and accessible beaches nearby, as well as a thriving new generation of farmers and farm products available. (Be sure to try ours!)

The vibe at Whidbey Island Sheep Camp
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Amazing!! My girlfriend and I had to opportunity to stay here, and we couldn't be happier. After the beautiful ferry ride to the island, Lynn greeted us and quickly gave us a tour of the area. The farm has forest trees, pastures of sheep, and private beach access. Our camping area had running hot water, a sink and table for eating, a VERY clean outhouse, and a shower looking over the forest trees. There is a field for playing games, and a fire pit for evening relaxing. In the morning we were treated to fresh cheese samples from the farm, and we got to watch Lynn in the cheese making process. Such a cool experience to see a family so passionate about their land and their farm, we will definitely be back very soon!
If you're looking to a place to relax, beautiful walking and great local market I highly recommend this farm. But what makes really special is the care of the owners Stan and Lynn. I also did not expect to have an open shower that overlooks the trees...
Beautiful farm with access to quite beach. Campsite is very open - community feel. If you want something private this is not the campsite for you.
Running hot water for shower and sink. Outdoor shower is on a hill and you get to look out at the trees. Fitpit available but didn't see a grate to cook on.
Well maintained property. It's a great campsite if you're visiting whidbey!!
So, so lovely! As previously noted - 10/10! Our hosts met us as we pulled in and we're so hospitable and friendly! Wonderful people. Very nice open sink/kitchen patio, with hot water, even, and the outdoor shower! So nice to be able to do dishes with hot water, in their stainless steel sink. Better than any shared kitchen space we've seen. Even invited us to try their cheeses, though after normal hours. Every single one is AMAZING, and has been a treat to have along for the rest of our trip (so much yum - the spreadable ones make every sandwich heaven). Open parking space/small meadow clearing allowed ample space for 3 to 4 groups to feel private and separate. Our rooftop tent setup worked well here. Lots of trails and area to explore, with gorgeous water views. We can't wait to go back and explore more, and connect more with Lynn and her husband!
Peaceful camping with lovely animal and nature sounds. Composting toilet VERY clean. Shower very clean though hot water was hit and miss. Great dishwashing station. Very nice camping spot. The path to get to the beach was a little adventurous even for our teenagers, so we just settled in and relaxed instead. Wonderful hosts and stories.
Lynn and Stan's property is a wonderful homestead that provides a great weekend away camping experience. They both are fantastic people who love to share their property and life with others, they are inviting and very kind people...with amazing cheese.
The campsites are close to one another, and best used for a group. But, if you are okay being 50ft away from other tents, then it isn't a problem for you! It is really nice having your own table, running water, shower, and outhouse all close by. It's also great being close to Langley for a quick run to grab food or hang around town.
The absolute best part about this location is the beach. Not only is the hike down adventurous and beautiful, but we had the beach to ourselves for as far as you could see. That is nearly impossible to come by.
The pictures are accurate for the most part (it seemed like the photographer was more interested in taking pictures of his girlfriend than the property haha).
You should stay here, it was a great experience overall.
Lynn and Stan are wonderful, welcoming hosts. They keep a clean, smoke-free, family-friendly camping area that was great for my three young kids, my wife, and me. Our campsite was flat and grassy, making it easy to pitch a 6-person, freestanding tent. The outhouse was very clean with toilet paper provided, the outdoor shower and sink are really nice touches, and my girls fell in love with Billy the resident dog (who played fetch with them for about an hour). I highly recommend Whidbey Island Sheep Camp - we plan to return there in the future.
Oh gosh, this place is so dreamy! I did not want to leave. I could stay forever. This is a fantastic place to stay! Lynn and Stan are so welcoming and really created a lovely space to relax, explore, and have fun. We got to taste all of their cheeses and yogurt, and bought a small wheel of cheese for our dinners. The outhouse is the cleanest and nicest outhouse I've ever seen. The shower is magical, overlooking the forest. We were sad we didn't get to have a campfire due to a burn ban, but still enjoyed cooking over a camp stove and hanging around the campsite. It's a very open space, so not a ton of privacy if that is what you're looking for. There were a lot of kiddos running around, so it's a good space for families. The walk down to the beach is exciting and beautiful, and the beach is fun to comb and explore. So fun also to see the sheep, pigs, turkeys, chickens, etc and learn about them from the staff. I highly recommend this place to everybody! I will definitely be back again.
Lynn was a wonderfully communicative host and met us upon arrival to the camp. We only stayed for one night so didn't have much time to explore but the farm is beautiful and the camp is clean and well maintained. Such a fun experience and I hope to be back again but next time for a longer visit.
We had such an amazing experience staying at the Whidbey Island Sheep Camp. Thank you to Lynn for being a great host and providing such wonderful facilities for our family. From the sink, shower, picnic tables, and outhouse, to the animals and trails. Highly recommended!
We were pretty late and uncertain about our exact check in time, but Lynn was very gracious about that. We also left a few hours earlier than check out time...so we never met Lynn, but I look forward to coming back to rectify that. We found the sheep and the precarious trail to the beach, both of which were wonderful! Next time, I hope to explore more.
Secluded private property with only 3 camp sites. So peaceful and quiet! Lots of room for even our colossal tent. Nice gathering spot with fire pit, sink, shower & hot water. Hosts are very nice and helpful, their products are available for sale right there. (Lamb for dinner!)
Cons: the outhouse, though initially appearing very clean & nice, seems to have sprung a leak on the interior. It became increasingly odorous with a suspicious stain growing along the floor as the weekend progressed. The path down to the beach is VERY treacherous-wear practical shoes & be careful! The owners dogs run freely on the property ( and why shouldn't they? It's their home! ) they are sweet, but one of them peed on our friends' tent. Be sure to keep an eye on them if they come visiting.
Overall it was a very enjoyable stay, and we'd definitely camp there again.
It's a wonderful camp ground! The setting is beautiful, nice amenities, friendly hosts, feels peaceful - no crowds. We stayed with little kids who had lots of fun; they ran around and got to see chickens and turkeys any time they wanted. There is an outlet which was very handy to use to cook when there is fire ban. The path to the beach is really interesting; through the sheep farm, through the woods, hiking a few steps and a ladder at the end - it's a little adventure. We would recommend hiking shoes with good traction and carrying kids some parts of the way. The beach is very secluded with lots of tasty blackberries. We would highly recommend this place and hope to go back there again.
My wife and I had a wonderful time. Stan and Lynn were so nice. We had a great time walking in the woods and seeing the sheep and we took a great trip into nearby Langley.
We will come back some day soon because we never got down to the beach. Thanks so much for a very fun weekend!
We could not have found a nicer place. The farm is located in a remote and private place in the forest. Spectacular and unique. We pitched our tent in a quiet spot and loved the outdoor shower and kitchen. We came with our Corgi - definitely a dog friendly site. The farm is not far from Langley where we enjoyed great food. We'll come again!
Had a great time at sheep camp! There are 3 sites and although they are somewhat close to each other, I still felt like we had plenty of room to ourselves. We loved having the farm animals around, the trail down to the beach, and the cheese shop right there. The outdoor shower and kitchen are nice touches that help make the experience cozier. Hosts Lynn and Stan, and greeter dog Billy were so friendly!
We had a great night. It was calm, peaceful, and quiet with friendly hosts and great cheese! We bright our dog with no problem, she was extremely interested in "meeting" the chickens and turkeys in the turkey pen, so we had to keep her on a tight leash, but if your dog is less focused on the local wildlife, you could let them play with the host collie. Great place to stay and we will be back! We also recommend the patio at Portico for fish tacos and a fantastic view.
