Great little campsite
We found Sadlerville for a last minute 4th of July camping trip, and it was really great. We hadn't used Hipcamp before, so we were nervous about what to expect since there weren't many pictures, but Irene was very quick to respond to messages and came and introduced herself on our first night there. The site was very similar to government run campsites I've been to, with marked spaces that each had room for a tent, a car, and a firepit. It was busy the first night, but we still had plenty of space and privacy, and we were almost alone the second night. Easy location to find, the port-a-potty was kept clean, and the river out back was really peaceful.
Perfect paradise hideaway
Beautiful place. We only stayed one night this trip so we could find it. Now ee are ready for a lot longer stay. Irene is a wonderful host. I hope to see them soon!
Nice host, it rained heavily in the midnight around 3:00, unexpectedly they came from no where and covered the camp tent with water proof cover. Rules are little bit strict but enjoyed a lot.
It was nice at first but the people who own the place need to control their kids. They were running everywhere and bothering campers. Also the mother who helped around with the property continuous yelled and cursed at her children. (Not Irene)
Really uncomfortable and not good setting for people to spend a couple days their. The parents barely watched over their kids and there kid was crying at 6AM by themselves! No parental watching at all.
Not what we expected 😪
Our stay was booked a couple days before the 4th of July weekend and for a specific site. When we got there our site was occupied, Irene was not in her office and the person left in charge had absolutely no clue what was going on. After finally contacting Irene by phone we were told that we were to set up camp in a different site than what our reservations stated. Our firepit was FULL of debris and I had to dig it out by hand to build a fire. The outhouse wasn't fit for an animal let alone human. On a brighter note, the location was right on the beautiful Bogachiel river. It appears as though Sadlerville is a new campground, possibly as of this year and hurriedly set up to provide camping during the shutdown of all "State Parks" during the pandemic. It could be a very nice getaway campground if measure's were taken to improve the amenities and staffing of qualified individuals.
