The property we named GAEA (the old Greek spelling of Mother Earth) was first seen in a vision. Historically, Deep Creek Canyon was a winter encampment for the Spokane Indians, whose ancestral lands surround us. We feel the healing spirit of the land, in partnership and stewardship. We gather community for Solstice & Equinox celebrations, bringing people together to honor the changing seasons. Our original house was one of the first in the canyon, in the early 1940's.

Great little spot. Outhouse and the shower are a nice touch. Beautiful property and very friendly host.

great family campsite
My two grown daughters and two grandsons had a great time sleeping under the stars. We appreciated all Jane's special little touches that made it a magical place to stay, especially the outdoor toilet and shower - so way beyond port a potty and a delightful surprise. I didn't realize the upper campsite would be a bit of an up hill walk away as you can't bring your car to the campsite. Not a problem, especially since Jane greets you with a golf cart and can transport heavy stuff, but I wish I had packed with that in mind.

Loved my campsite and the set up Jane provided. It was a fantastic camping site. FYI - no cell service at all for this Verizon user. I was happy about that. You might not be.

The shade was lovely and the hammocks were very comfortable. Having the solar shower after days out and about in the hot sun was great!

Great Place for a 1st Daddy's Day!
We did our first dad's day here. Even though baby bumps happened on our trip and we did not arrive until 10pm, our hosts met us with smiles and understanding. They took us and our gear to the site and had both hot water and a fire waiting. This attitude was on display throughout the property, where there were many thoughtful and artful touches everywhere. Along with just being in the out of doors with his besties, our baby really enjoyed discovering the tea house, fairy garden and more. We found the stack of firewood with starters and kindling, lovely custom made outhouse (complete with running water and a little hotel soap) and just generally all of the space designs to be hospitable and excellent. 10/10 would definitely stay here again.

✌🏽 Mellow + Far Out (in a good way)
This tent site is luxurious and quiet compared to typical State Park campsites that seem to appeal to the heaving sea of humanity in summer. The site is a small bench on a slight hill with a level wooden tent platform - (no rocks under your tent!). It is in airy pine woods with views and carpeted with a clean pine needle floor and is surrounded by grasses, and native wildflowers. We enjoyed the privacy provided by the short walk up with our gear from where we parked our vehicle - maybe 200 feet. A wheelbarrow was provided, too. One of the surprises was the earthy, clean open hut that houses a spotless sink with running water, composting toilet arrangement, and even a fairly discreet, solar heated outdoor shower. Firewood was provided for the little fire ring, and evenings were free from most auto sounds unless a car drove by on the gravel road below, but the dominant sounds were owl, donkeys from a nearby farm, and an occasional dog bark far away. A few wild turkeys strolled by us as we enjoyed our cup of coffee in the morning sun. We used the spot as a base when visiting family in Spokane, and although the feeling is quite remote, the drive into town was only a pleasant 20 minutes. Jane provided the info and stuff we needed when we arrived, but after that we felt that we had our own acreage to camp on. Just a really pleasant experience.
