A short hike up the trail with your gear (wheelbarrow provided) brings you to a beautiful tent site looking out over the north/south canyon with plenty of sunshine during the daylight hours, and a moonlit evening with softly hooting owls and distant coyotes. Pitch your tent either on the earth or on the platform in the pine and fir forest for a relaxing vacation in Nature. A couple of hammocks invite a nap, or conversation. A big picnic table is a convenient place to cook on your portable stove. What’s a camp out without a fire? Unless there is a burn ban, which there now is, you have a fire ring, grate, and complimentary bundle of wood, hotdog forks, and a water hose to make the evening uneventfully perfect. In keeping with our permaculture practices, a sawdust toilet ( exclusively for your site) is available in the Far Out House, and pure water is onsite. Bringing bottled water is unnecessary, unless our water is turned off due to freezing nightime temperatures. Check with me.  A deluxe solar shower and pedestal sink keep you clean and refreshed. Sanitizer is by the sink. We have a “pack it in pack it out” policy as well as “leave no trace.” Your hosts, however, will take care of the toilet. Daytime walks can lead you to a swimming hole at the creek, a fairy garden, a stone labyrinth, a sweet “tea house”, yoga platform, and many meditation spots. Our 10 acres have been a delightful retreat from the busy-ness of urban life and being cooped up due to the virus.

We had a perfect stay at GAEA. Jane is lovely and her land is magical. The campsite itself is comfortable, imaginative and thoughtful. Our only regret is that we don't live close enough to visit more frequently.

If you are looking for private, unique, awesome and clean amenities, sweet and attentive host, forested and pine needle carpeted, just outside of Spokane and close to the Green Bluff farms and orchards and the national park, STOP. Just book this adorable place. Seriously.

Jane’s husband was busy adding a stable and study wooden tent platform when we arrived. His amazing handy work was shown all over the area. The bathroom (nice smelling saw dust + bucket + seat) and outdoor shower areas were so well built, quirkily decorated, and carefully maintained daily. There were log benches and safely crafted fireplaces.

The posting and pictures do not do it justice. There is wood that they prep for you But it was easy to find kindling and dry bark. They have a grill to cook on top of the campfire, they have two long roasting forks, towels, shampoo, conditioner provided, the trees had convenient areas to hang things off of, quite private. There’s a house nearby but sounds like it’s been empty for years.
There was a bit of a walk up but they also had a handy road that you could drive up to make unloading easier! There’s a yurt nearby and a teepee but enough space and trees covered us.

In the morning we found out there was a burn ban so Jane actually brought us a cute basket of yogurt and granola and peaches for breakfast!

Noise and animal wise, we did hear an owl in the distance. We chuckled when startled by two dogs on the far left and right of us wishing each other good night... the flies and crickets seemed excited for us be there but there were barely any mosquitos.

The site itself is not in their backyard but across the road in the property from them. There’s privacy but they are also easily accessible. There’s also a creek and sauna and trails and so much to do just on their property. She actually left us a handy drawn map of the space.

Seriously, more pictures of the map of the bathroom and largeness of the space would help you I understand why we were impressed with the quality of the design and upkeep!

Thank you Jane!
Happy camping all!

My other half and I stayed here to break up a two day trip and are really glad that we did. We cannot say enough good things about our stay here. The campsite itself is set up perfectly and exceptionally well maintained.

The site has all of the amenities of a well developed campsite, with the privacy that only comes with hiking into a campsite. My other half and I do quite a bit of wilderness backpacking, and loved how secluded the site felt for being so close to other homes. We were able to utilize a campfire, benches, chairs, a picnic table, as well as a level platform for setting up our tent. We were out pretty early the next morning and unfortunately did not use the shower or the restroom. Next time for sure.

But our favorite part of the experience, easily, was communicating and meeting our host, Jane. Jane is incredibly warm and kind, and was so patient with us when we struggled with some temporary road closures. Jane is good people, and it was such a pleasure to meet her. We definitely plan on stopping by here again if we find ourselves passing through Eastern Washington. Highly recommend.
