Within a 30-minute drive from the North Cascades National Park Wilderness Information Center.
Our old growth temperate rain forest homestead begins the wild and uncut wilderness that extends 40 miles to the Canadian boarder and beyond just as far. Before us it was part of Cascadian Farm (the organic food brand which still operates a lovely ice cream, esspresso, and berry stand adjacent to us), and before that it was one of the first farms this deep into the Cascade Range supplying food for the crews building the dams. We offer both a yurt and tree house.  You will be on our small farm/homestead that is backed up to the Mount Baker National Forest with undisturbed forest all north all the way to the Canadian border to the north, Baker lake to the north west, and to the North Cascades National park to the North east. The Skagit River flows to the south of us. If you like freezing cold glacier water, we'll provide you with a map where you can walk down to the river to cool off at a safe swimming hole. Guests love staying here "Such a glorious and relaxed stay. The yurt really was a palace, it was so spacious and had many thoughtful amenities. We hiked on the mountain, forded a river and played with Hiland cows, all within walking distance of the yurt. I was worried that it would be cold but we were toasty and were even able to cook full course meals. Terry and Erin were the perfect hosts, responsive and yet non-instrusive. Thank you so much for letting us have this experience!"This 30 foot diameter yurt has over 700 square feet of space, a mini kitchen, wood stove, table and chairs, a couch, and a mini library with books, magazines, and games. Three 'bedrooms' (separated by sheets) two with double beds and one with a single including a roll out trundle bed. Including the couch it sleeps seven; bring sleeping pads and the sky's the limit!

Forest self lifting Treehouse
The treehouse was pretty neat, though I’m not sure if the self-lifting part worked. I followed the instructions, but didn’t have any luck, and the hosts didn’t respond to my message about it, nor did they respond to another message I sent asking which water was potable. I did fit in the treehouse diagonally, and there was a mosquito net, though a bit awkward to use from that position. The cat on the site was sweet.

A private treehouse stay!
I loved the concept of the treehouse and how you could hoist yourself up into the trees. The treehouse had complete privacy from the hosts house and other hipcampers. Terry was friendly and greeted us upon arrival. The shower house and compostable toilet were great features.

Had a great time camping out on the property! We opted to just camp out in the alderwood grove instead of the treehouse as we were a larger group and it was perfect!

Good and cheap option
Pros: low cost, great location, close to amazing hikes, close to restaurants and stores. Cons: lots of spiders inside, hard to find if getting in at dark.

Camping with animals!
We loved the treehouse. It was perfect for camping in the Pacific Northwest, as it was a great shelter for when it rained—much better than a tent! We LOVED the farm animals—when we were there, there was a young chicken family, a beautiful cow, some very friendly cats, and a herd of goats. Plus an outdoor kitchen and a shower on the way, I believe!
