A nest in a grove
When I wrapped myself in the comforter I was glad I wasn't sleeping in a tent. The heat was on and I was nested in among the trees. I'd joined other vintage Scamper glampers at the fire pit as they made S'mores, and enjoyed their company as well as the forest grove. Hosts Art and John gave me a tour of their spacious garden as I watched their chickens and ducks dash around the grounds. It's a great setting for a weekend or a week! The next time I stay I will definitely take a friend or friends so we can share a common experience. Birds were chirping outside the window when I woke up. I sat there with my cup of coffee and watched three deer and several bunnies pass by. I loved my time in my Couchette. The hosts made sure everything was as comfortable as possible. They even left a number of toiletries and mosquito repellent for me to use if I needed them so I felt right at home.
I cannot recommend Ellwood Estate and Farm enough! Arthur and his partner were the most welcoming hosts and made our stay even better than I could have imagined. The camper itself was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed, not to mention it was on the cutest piece of land. Whidbey Island is such a fun place to explore - so many great restaurants, small hikes, and the friendliest people.
Way more rememberable than a hotel!

Staying at Arthur and John's farm was the most pleasant camping experience my wife and I have ever had! Arthur and John were so accommodating. When we arrived we were greeted with a warm fire and s'mores supplies. They showed us around the place and along the way we met the resident cat, chickens, ducks, and deer. They also offered some great suggestions of things to do during our stay. The camper itself was cozy, comfortable, and well decorated.
The ambiance that Arthur and John have created made for quite a romantic setting. It was a great place to have a quiet weekend where my wife and I could give all our attention to one another.
The location of the estate is great as it's right in the middle of the island and there are things to do on both ends. We were able to go to the Bayview Farmer's Market (south) in the morning and then to Fort Casey State Park (north) in the evening without any problems.
We are absolutely coming back! Until next time Arthur and John!
Loved staying here for a relaxing weekend getaway from Seattle! Arthur was a great host and we felt very welcome here. Great little spot to relax and enjoy a campfire. The RV was in great shape, and included a shower and a really comfy bed.
