Beautiful whidbey get away!
Property is located on beautiful Whidbey Island 10-15 minutes from Coupeville and 30 minutes from Oak Harbor. Easy to access from both Deception Pass or the Clinton Ferry. Elwood Estate is located on a dead end road on private property where the proprietors live. The accommodations are cozy campers with individual fire pits and comfortable seating located away from the main house as to create a very private setting. We spent the days hiking Ebby's landing, shopping and lunching in Coupeville, visiting Oak Harbor, experiencing Deception Pass, and lounging in the shade trees near our glamper. Gourmet family style dinner was provided each night and food was incredible. John and Art invited us in for a glass of wine in the main house. They are gracious and responsive hosts with a long history on the island and culinary background. They were always available if we had questions but left us to enjoy our space. In all, this is truly a wonderful and unique experience you won't want to miss!
Charming and cozy
The hosts were welcoming and made sure everything was stocked, clean and cozy. The setting was beautiful and peaceful, the trailers were so cute and fun. Our friends rented one trailer and we rented the other. We did all our grilling out on the big table and had fires every night in the fire pit. The stars in the sky. Deer, chickens and rabbits frolicked. They had string lights in the big cherry tree and it made it well lit and festive at night time.
Anniversary to remember
I could not have asked for a better experience to surprise my wife with for our 14th anniversary! While first skeptical on my choice she soon fell in love with the well kept camper, the quiet surroundings and excellent service from our host. We added a dinner of King salmon and risotto and a breakfast of fresh baked pastries, fruit and yogurt. Our host even surprised us with a bottle of champagne and makings for s’mores as gifts.
Paddle boarding was just 30 min away and we also took in some trails and restaurants in the area. The highlight was catching sunset at Deception Pass. Would recommend to anyone looking to “get away” but still be close to activities.
