Sarah is a great host. We were her first Hip Campers. Lots of wonderful animals to camp with. Horses, goats, sheep, bunnies, cows! Nice location and great hiking above the ranch.
It was really great. The site felt private enough so we could really stay away from crowds and had all the amenities we needed in Goldendale and nearby. Several swimming and paddle boarding options. The star gazing was incredible at this location. We also appreciated the lunch table, stumps for kids to play on, and shady oak trees. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive. We even got to have s’mores which is a must for the kids when camping. Thank you for a fun visit along the Columbia!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your time here in Goldendale!
Sarah was great! She was very welcoming and fun to talk to. It was also fun to interact with the animals. She had water and a picnic table set up too. However, when we arrived, the most level spot to set up a tent was being watered so we had to set up on a bit of a hill which led to a somewhat uncomfortable night. But, other than that, it was a beautiful spot with good access to the Columbia River Gorge.

Apologies for the sprinklers, I had forgotten to turn that section off before you arrived (my husband had reminded me too!!). Hopefully you make it back up to the NW for another visit in the future.
We had the best experience at Dream Acres Homestead! Cannot recommend it enough. The adorable animals, the beautiful, peaceful property. Sarah was so accommodating and interesting to talk to. We especially love the goat, Graham Cracker. We stayed in site #1, which is beneath a little grove of oak trees all the way across a pasture from the house. There was a picnic table and two tree stumps that were perfect little tables since we were trying to stay socially distant from one another. Beautiful sunset view behind Mt Adams from the edge of the property. Hoping to visit again one day!
Dream Acres Homestead was a dream stay for our family. Sarah and Tim were incredible hosts and provided a relaxed atmosphere with goat Graham Cracker, horse Skippy, and two Highland cows to boot! It was extra special to have direct walking access to the observatory park. Our weekend at Dream Acres has been one of the highlights of our family's summer.
Fantastic place to stay. Sarah and Tim were the best of hosts, and we loved meeting all their animals! The warm welcome (properly socially distanced!) was much appreciated, and our kids adored their rabbit, basset hounds, sheep, goat, and Scottish Highland cows. Also it was fantastic to have access to a composting toilet-tent and fresh potable water. Great star-viewing! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!
My sister and I were impressed by the beautiful property, great location, and warm hospitality we experienced at Dream Acres Homestead. The immediate access to trails from our campsite, awesome star gazing and fun animal encounters made our trip really unique and enjoyable.
Thank you Sarah for your prompt and helpful communication leading up to our stay, and Dan for being a great host when we arrived! We had a great time with you and are so happy to have had this option that felt much more peaceful than having to navigate packed and noisy public campgrounds.
We camped at Site 1 which was great because it felt more secluded, so we really enjoyed that, but I would note for other campers that this site is located in the pasture with the farm animals, so expect that they will be in close proximity with you. You will want to be mindful of packing up and storing your food at night and when you are gone because the animals are curious. They will very likely sleep all around your tent each night also. We thought this was pretty fun, but you should be prepared (especially if you are not so into close contact with an array of farm animals) that you are in their pasture and camping in what seems to be their favorite sleeping spot so they are very likely to be snuffling about your site and lying right outside your tent each night.
The hosts kindly supplied us a big wheelbarrow to get our stuff between our cars and the campsite, so that was really helpful. At night we ended up turning the wheelbarrow upside down over any loose items or dry food not in the plastic coolers - to create a barrier around it when the animals came to visit - so this second use of the provided wheelbarrow might be an option for future campers at this site:)
