Jessie's Camp at Dragons Gate

Jessie's camp is set in the middle of the hundred back acres. It provides a lovely camping experience in a surround of trees. Named after my daughter because it is a favorite of the my grownup children to camp here. The area has gently rolling hills filled with wildflowers during the earlier part of the Summer. Dragons Gate Gardens and Wilds has a hundred and twenty acres
Jessie's camp is set in the middle of the hundred back acres. It provides a lovely camping experience in a surround of trees. Named after my daughter because it is a favorite of the my grownup children to camp here. The area has gently rolling hills filled with wildflowers during the earlier part of the Summer. Dragons Gate Gardens and Wilds has a hundred and twenty acres to explore. The Skookumchuck River is a little over a mile away where you can explore a waterfall and walk along the river with low bank where one can get into the water. Doing so is a great favorite of our guests.
We are wild and woolly. We provide a place to experience nature as it simply is. We privilege pollinators above human aesthetics. Wildflowers abound, including various dandelions which many are edible and healing plants. We encourage converting from lawns to meadow lands being supportive of wild birds and insects. If you like it wild we are the place for you. This is not a resort or English style garden. Tall grass, wild flowers and trees fill the land around you to give you a feeling of full immersion in Nature.
Please note that check-in is from 2 pm until 8 pm. All members of the party must check-in at the front gate. It is required to check-in prior to going to your site. Parties arriving late will be charged a late fee of $25. for the first hour and an additional $50. for being over an hour late. We do not site campers after dark. (Our State Parks close their gates at dusk.) We also ask our campers to observe quiet time after 9 pm. It is important to be respectful of all, that includes the other campers.
When requesting to book please include whether you are bringing a trailer or RV and its length, how many cars, how many people, and how many dogs, so that I can better site you and your party.
We can now allow our guests the use of the Hot Tub and pool. If interested, please inquire. There are a limited number of sessions available.
CLARIFICATION OF WHICH FEATURES ARE INCLUDED IN CAMPING FEES AND WHICH WERE ADDITIONAL EXTRAS:
In response to some guests complaints about the fees thinking they should be different because the water features are not being offered, when the pool and hot tub are available there are extra fees involved. They have never been included in the camping fees. The camping fees have been the same for the entire time I have been on Hipcamp which is three years now. If you feel for any reason that my fees are not in your budget we can recommend other sites.
Please let me know you've read this far by telling me how many smokers are in your group when you send your booking request.

Dragon's Gate Gardens was the perfect spot for an overnight camp with my 7yr old. Soft grounds for wandering barefoot, sunlight breaking through morning mist, golden meadows, sounds of distant horses, and a beautiful pool/hot tub surrounded by large crystals to enjoy. Being the only campers, we had a chance to explore the other campsites.... you can't go wrong. They all looked wonderful. Jessie's Camp #1, had a good amount of spaced trees to hang our hammock though and was seperated from the other sites (also closest to pool). Campsites were clean, bucket style toilets were constrcuted which were close by and convenient, and the owners are warm and welcoming. My son thoroughly enjoyed riding his bike to the pool and was thrilled to find a collection of pool toys for him use. Auriel (aka Kathleen) graciously showed us around, chatted with us, and would have helped with anything had we needed it. We enjoyed the energy and will definitely camp here again.
This is the perfect place to ditch the grid and connect with nature! The land is very beautiful, and full of gorgeous plants, animals, and crystals… and one or two troublesome fairies. The hosts are very gracious and attentive to their guests: they set up the hot tub for us to use in the evening, brought fire wood right out to our campsite, and helped us out when one of our party members misplaced his keys. They are 420 and alcohol-friendly, and the sites where we stayed at Jessie’s camp were distant from the neighbors, so perfect for a small, private group retreat. Our dog was also warmly welcomed and allowed off-leash in our site. It was a good drive, out of town but not too long from the greater Seattle area. Just make sure to bring bug spray, and that you don’t need cell connectivity, because you probably won’t get it. We’re very likely to come back. Thanks for everything, Auriel!!
We enjoyed the peace and solitude of Jessie's camp. Kathleen was super nice and accommodating, and made us feel at home on her property. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub while we were there. Amazing swimming pool and hot tub! Like a little lagoon...kids enjoyed being able to swim and take hot showers even though it was a a little chilly out.
Only a couple critiques: the firewood we bought seemed a little on the "light" side for what we paid, and it would have been nice if some of the pieces were split to burn better as we didn't bring a hatchet with us. Also, the composting toilet could use a little TLC and re-adjusting as the platform has a gap between the toilet and it that can get...uh...wet. Not a huge deal, just gotta pay close attention to not get wet feet! On the whole, we had a lovely experience and enjoyed our stay...super nice hosts and a great friendly vibe!
Kathleen and Mose were fantastic hosts. Very informative on the area and really helpful.
We stayed at Jessie's Campground. Very nice tree lined camp spot with several possible tent placements. Nice fire pit and picnic table. Outhouse close by.
Should've brought head lamps for night walks but got around okay.
Very peaceful experience and great hosts.
Dragons Gate is a beautiful intentional community, and the hosts have really put a lot of energy into creating a beautiful common space around the pool as well as many quiet and private camping spaces. I will absolutely camp here again!
We had an amazing time at Dragon's gate. Kathleen is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. This property is beautiful and the campsites have great fire pits. Be sure to take advantage of the unique pool surrounded by crystals and lights and the hot tub. We will definitely be making this one of our yearly group camping destinations.
We had a great time at Dragons' Gate! Jesse's Camp #3 was pretty private, complete with a picnic table and firepit. The bathroom was shared with other camps around us, and we could hear other camps from time to time, but it's a meadow with trees, so it wasn't surprising. We spent our full day down at the river nearby, which was SO NICE, and spent our nights chatting around the fire. Thanks to both of you for being such kind and communicative hosts!
This was my first trip using Hipcamp and I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use. Kathleen was very quick and responsive via the website to answer any questions and even go look to see if there was a best site to hang our hammocks. This trip consisted of myself, partner, and furbaby Jango. The area is very private and easy to get to once you have the directions. Kathleen met us at the entrance and showed us to site #1-as well as let us check the other available camps to see if better trees were to be had. For my fellow hammock campers- site #1 is perfect- there are 2-3 larger trees that can work well with other nicely spaced smaller ones that I could see hanging up to about 5 hammocks if needed. Amenities are running well water, picnic table, plenty of parking, pit toilet with TP and hand washing supplies available, as well as a well established fire pit with a kit to tamp out or emergency douse the fire if needed. Practice LNT -pack out what you pack in as no garbage is available. My pup absolutely loved it- there was tons of lush grass that he LOVES to roll in and he was allowed off leash all weekend as he stays near his humans. There's plenty of flat areas for setting up communal supplies or your tents as needed with open area and tree covered to suit your fancy. Pretty private and quiet- I never saw another camper but occasionally heard them at night when we had a "howling" good time. Otherwise you only hear the horses and cows from the nearby farm area through the day. You can purchase firewood for $10 per bucket. You get a large amount of wood rounds with kindling as well- one bucket lasted us about 3-5 hours. Overall a wonderful experience! The only con I would say is the price right now- as the pool and tea area are closed so you don't get to use the full amenities offered during other times. Overall a wonderful experience and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to camp that has most amenities and is pet friendly during these trying times.
