Lakes Mayfield and Riffe to the East. There are several opportunities to hike, bike, ride horses, ATVs, fish, canoe, river raft, rock climb, snow ski and snowboard, all within a short drive from camp. Back at camp you can play in the creek, fly kites in the fields, gather up enough to play baseball, volleyball or badminton (there is a net & badminton racquets in the common area), or just relax by the creek, watch Bald Eagles flying overhead, catch a few trout, or pick berries along the walking trails and around the property. The common area also has swings, a slide, a merry-go-round, and other activities for the kids. There is a portable toilet and garbage can located in the same communal area. The property is approx 4 acres with fields at both North and South ends, and the tree-lined creek runs the entire West side of the property. There are short walking trails along the creek as well, which is where the bare tent sites are located.
NOTE: For those with sensitive noses, the field on the opposite side of the creek does have beef cattle who frequently graze there.

Dear Hipcampers, I was very excited to book on Hipcamp over Labor Day weekend 2018. Upon arrival, there is 55 mph road is right next to the camping site, the gate that was there doesn't close very well. This was a concern since we have toddlers and needed to keep them away from the road.
I don't believe this is clearly described on the site.
Also across the creek is a cow pasture which smells of manure and produced a lot of flies.
Not mentioned on the site as well.
I wouldn't recommend this site to other families with small children due to the proximity the road.
A couple positives was the closeness to Mayfield Lake, porta potty cleaniness, and responsiveness of the hosts.
