Where do I begin . . .
Contentment Acres is all that your gracious host, Pamela, says it is - but it's quite a bit much more! I had the luxury of being this past weekends only guest and I will return here again - here's why.
Mountain Views - Mt Hood (from the pavilion, a hammock, or the hay field? Yes to all
Camping variety - From tent camping to tent Glamping - Contentment Acres has it all - move off from the main campus into the woods or stay nice and close to enjoy a more groomed, civilized atmosphere - while these old bones can still do it - I prefer a tent.
Amenities - ConTENTment Acres is one of the most well thought out properties I've had the pleasure of camping at. The layout is particular and well planned; outdoor propane shower, outhouses built to last longer than most homes, nice open air pavilion & outdoor cook kitchen, fire pits, hammock sites - when you walk this property you can feel Pam's passion for the land, the mountains, and for building her small slice of Heaven on earth in order to share it with others. Built by Pam and her brother, the care and craftsmanship employed here are outstanding.
Your Host, Pamela - you know good people when you meet them and take the time to hear their story - Pam is good people through and through, a pleasure to talk with and she has some great stories about reclaiming the property from the wild, rescuing all manner of four legged critters, and getting to know her neighbors ;-D
There is quite a bit of humor and some great lessons in those stories, if you listen closely.
When you hear the odd screech as night falls and can't quite figure it out, well enough said . . . you will chuckle when you learn the answer, I know I did.
IF you hear a sound like galloping coming at you from behind, chances are it's not a bear, it's just Pam's pup, another rescue who she nursed back to health - he's harmless, lovable, and just lookin for new friends and a belly rub.
I know I will return here for the views, the peace and quiet, the mountain squalls, the wind, and the trip up and back along the Columbia was icing on the cake!
We absolutely loved Pam! Her space is so unique and special. She is extremely passionate about where she lives and was full of helpful recommendations. The site is very clean and spacious and loaded with different activities. Her outdoor shower is incredible. Can’t wait to go back!
Lovely property. Pam's attention to detail in providing camping comforts was a real treat: propane shower, very clean cedar chip pit toilets, seating areas, eating areas, more than one double hammock and cooking ammenties! It's well worth the drive up from White Salmon. A piece of paradise, we cared for. J & D
Our stay at ConTentment Acres completely exceeded expectations! Pam was so kind and showed us around when we arrived. All of the amenities are clean and well-cared for, and really cover all the bases: covered cook stove with pots and pans, hot shower, hammocks, and covered fire area, all with Mt Hood views.
I don't have enough good things to say, and will definitely be coming back for a longer stay.
Pamela is just one of those wonderful people. Her property is gorgeous, well maintained, and has tons of amenities. The outdoor shower is excellent, the fires are easy, and the kitchen is well stocked.
We'll be back! And we're gonna bring friends!!
Our first Hipcamp experience, and it was far better than expected. I've camped in many places but none come close to the space that Pam has created. We were the only tent campers that night, and had the area to ourselves, but there were may well equipped social areas for games, eating and cooking.
Pam was very friendly and showed us around the site on arrival, talking us through the amenities.
The address Pam provided took us straight there, though I would recommend bringing a map or preloading your routes in and out as signal in the area is very intermittent.
Thank you so much for hosting us Pam, you have created a beautiful site.
Unbelievable place. Space was so clean and maintained it was incredible. Chairs, cooking area, cooking utensils (pots, pans, cleaning supplies, stove, etc.), cleanest custom built out house I’ve ever seen, amazing outdoor heated shower, and the list goes on and on. We even had fresh chocolate chip cookies waiting for us upon arrival! I will definitely be returning. Thanks for everything Contenment Acres!
Fell in love with ConTENTment Acres. Pamela was delightful and we enjoyed sharing a beer and conversation one evening. She has put a ton of love and attention into her place and every detail is perfect - from sparkling clean composting outhouses with art, tons of hand sanitizer and magazines, to a marvelous outdoor hot shower, super functional shared kitchen space with a propane 3 burner stove, picturesque seating areas, hammocks and divine views of Mount Hood. We cant wait to come back! Thanks for everything, Pam, and sending lots of pets to the kitties and Cable.
