Located in the beautiful South Fork Valley near Acme, WA, our farm is located at the base of the Cascade Mountain foothills near the Nooksack River. Tinling Creek, a seasonal salmon-spawning creek, runs through the property, cascading down the mountainside in two epic waterfalls, each with their own dipping pools.  We are located directly between Bellingham (22 miles east) and Mount Baker (to the west). About 19 miles to the east is Lake Whatcom, the drinking water reservoir and beloved recreation area of Bellingham, and to the west is nothing but protected DNR lands into the Cascades. From our door, you could backpack through protected wilderness to Mount Baker (if you were hardcore).  The township of Clipper was established by early settlers in 1901. Today, our property lies in a gorgeous farming river valley between Acme and Van Zandt, two tiny rural communities with friendly character and old-timey charm.

Old growth orchard + mountainscape
This was a fun and interesting place to camp. The campsite itself is a simple, grassy area among apple trees, but as Zack and Hannah were welcoming for us to explore their whole property, it holds more interest with a hiking trail, waterfall, berry bushes, and friendly animals. Our kids made friends with the dog, cats, and pigs -- and we enjoyed the hammock that came with our campsite too. The outdoor shower looked fine, but we didn't need to use it. The creek on the property is seasonal, so there was no water in it when we stayed there in August. We enjoyed driving out to explore the nearby area -- downtown Bellingham was really cute and we hit up several local diners as well. This would be a good camp place for people wanting to feel secluded but easily reach civilization as well. Our portable internet worked well during our stay, which is important as we both work mobile jobs and required a strong connection. Zack and Hannah were enthusiastic hosts who obviously love their farm. They were very welcoming.

Zack and Hannah were fantastic hosts. Site 2 was tucked back behind the house and shed, providing privacy and a lot of space to roam. We had a group of six and there was plenty of room for three tents. I would definitely come back and stay at this site! 😀

The scenery was beautiful and there is a cool waterfall on the property not far from the campsites.

Old growth orchard + mountainscape
This was our first time using hip camp and we were not disappointed! Zack and Hannah made us feel incredibly welcome and site 2 was perfect--plenty of room for a few tents and having a water hose at the campsite was so convenient. Unfortunately it rained a lot of the weekend but we didn't let it spoil our fun--we played cards under a canopy (not provided--we brought our own when we saw the weather forecast). Our hosts kindly provided tea lights and votive jars to add to the evening ambiance since we couldn't have a campfire due to air quality issues from far-away wildfires. We enjoyed the little walk to the waterfall (prettier than in the photos!) and also walked to the far end of the valley to check out the river (about ~4 mi RT). Lots of friendly farm animals along the way and the river itself was a nice spot to relax. Overall, a great stay--thanks again to Zack & Hannah for hosting us!

Old growth orchard + mountainscape
From the minute we arrived, we were greeted by Hannah and a few other farm animals. Hannah made sure we had everything we needed to set up our site. The hosts added so many special touches to our site that made it even more welcoming. The farm is very beautiful and such a peaceful place away from it all. This is both a pet and family friendly place. We will most definitely recommend this location to our friends. Thank you for your hospitality!

Old growth orchard + mountainscape
A group of four of us stayed at Hannah & Zack's organic farm and it was unanimous, we all loved it! The site is on part of their acreage and when we arrived they had set out a camp table with candles, there was a firepit and a beautiful bouquet of blackberries waiting for us. There was also a hose at the site which allowed us to have the fire and was helpful for doing dishes and such. Two of us used the solar shower which is great to have on hot days. The outhouse was as good as an outhouse can be ;) Hiked out to the falls but given that it has been such a dry summer and this is August, right now it's mostly a trickle, but my dog still jumped in the small pool after tiny fish. Hannah came and met with us and was so hospitable and answered all of our questions. The site is mostly level, but being acreage and not a campsite isn't not uniformly level everywhere. That being said we had two tents and my campervan out in the site plus chairs around the firepit and another table. They have cats and a dog on the premises so just an FYI if you bring your pups who like to chase things or aren't great with other animals. The dog and cats stopped by to say hi and are very friendly. The site is super private and far enough out where we got to see a good amount of stars. They have another site they rent out, we were in the one to the left of the house (not the orchard). The sites are so far away from each other and on opposite sides of the farm that you would never know other people are camping near by. Right after we left we all talked about doing another trip in the fall. Definitely recommend and thanks Zack and Hannah for a great weekend!
