This was our first Hipcamp experience and it did not disappoint! The hosts, Zack and Hannah, are wonderful. They made us feel welcome and gave us a scenic route to take as we drove up. They greeted us, gave us a tour of available sites and had a cart ready to haul our gear as soon as we arrived.
The property is lovely, with three available sites cleared for tents. We selected the site nearest the house, nestled under the old Apple trees. It was a bit less private than the others, but the grass was level and soft and clearing was perfect for stargazing.
There is an amazing waterfall on the property, only about a 5 minute walk from camp. The shallow pool at the bottom is currently perfect for kids to wade and play. Our two young children had the best time running around and looking for cool rocks. Playing and cuddling with their friendly dog (who greeted us with a frisbee both mornings) and two kittens was a special bonus!
There are a lot of activities nearby, but we drove about an hour from the site to hike Baker Lake. Luckily there are two decent diner/restaurants within a 10 minute drive of the property. Both had good food and friendly staff- perfect if you want to spend time playing/exploring and not cooking.
Thank you for a wonderful weekend, we hope to return!!
Zack and Hannah were really friendly hosts and corresponded quickly. Their dog, 2 kitties, and 2 pigs were also very warm!
We stayed at site #2, which is past their house in a nice clearing surrounded by tall trees on the east side. It felt removed and quiet. You can see their road in the distance, but it's a dead end street, so very few cars pass. Instead, we fell asleep to the noise of their waterfall that's a 5 min walk through their woods. It was pretty cool with some fish in the pool. There's also a private outdoor shower on site that was perfect for our needs after returning from a sweaty hike near Mt. Baker.
We liked the site and would return if we're in the area again.
This spot was great. It was secluded enough that we felt like we had our own space, but close enough to the road that it wasn't a pain to get out. Plus, it was only about a 5 minute walk to the waterfall. The ad said you could park at the listing, but the host advised us to park nearby and walk-in—however, if you have a mid-high clearance vehicle (like we do) you can just drive in.
Zack and Hannah were the most accommodating! The site was very cute and had everything we expected. We even forgot a few necessities they were able to help us with that turned what could've been a more stressful situation to a nearly painless one. Much appreciation towards these hosts. Will keep them in mind for our next little getaway!
A group of four of us stayed at Hannah & Zack's organic farm and it was unanimous, we all loved it! The site is on part of their acreage and when we arrived they had set out a camp table with candles, there was a firepit and a beautiful bouquet of blackberries waiting for us. There was also a hose at the site which allowed us to have the fire and was helpful for doing dishes and such. Two of us used the solar shower which is great to have on hot days. The outhouse was as good as an outhouse can be ;) Hiked out to the falls but given that it has been such a dry summer and this is August, right now it's mostly a trickle, but my dog still jumped in the small pool after tiny fish. Hannah came and met with us and was so hospitable and answered all of our questions. The site is mostly level, but being acreage and not a campsite isn't not uniformly level everywhere. That being said we had two tents and my campervan out in the site plus chairs around the firepit and another table. They have cats and a dog on the premises so just an FYI if you bring your pups who like to chase things or aren't great with other animals. The dog and cats stopped by to say hi and are very friendly. The site is super private and far enough out where we got to see a good amount of stars. They have another site they rent out, we were in the one to the left of the house (not the orchard). The sites are so far away from each other and on opposite sides of the farm that you would never know other people are camping near by. Right after we left we all talked about doing another trip in the fall. Definitely recommend and thanks Zack and Hannah for a great weekend!
From the minute we arrived, we were greeted by Hannah and a few other farm animals. Hannah made sure we had everything we needed to set up our site. The hosts added so many special touches to our site that made it even more welcoming. The farm is very beautiful and such a peaceful place away from it all. This is both a pet and family friendly place. We will most definitely recommend this location to our friends. Thank you for your hospitality!
This was our first time using hip camp and we were not disappointed! Zack and Hannah made us feel incredibly welcome and site 2 was perfect--plenty of room for a few tents and having a water hose at the campsite was so convenient. Unfortunately it rained a lot of the weekend but we didn't let it spoil our fun--we played cards under a canopy (not provided--we brought our own when we saw the weather forecast). Our hosts kindly provided tea lights and votive jars to add to the evening ambiance since we couldn't have a campfire due to air quality issues from far-away wildfires. We enjoyed the little walk to the waterfall (prettier than in the photos!) and also walked to the far end of the valley to check out the river (about ~4 mi RT). Lots of friendly farm animals along the way and the river itself was a nice spot to relax.
Overall, a great stay--thanks again to Zack & Hannah for hosting us!
