04/20/2024 Update: We have been patiently waiting for a forest clean-up logging project to begin and it has officially started. Our property has a large number of dying trees so this is a necessary action to ensure the overall forest health, but will unavoidable disrupt the look of the property for many years to come. We will be replanting next February. For those who only wish to use the property as a safe base camp near mountain biking trails, I’ll happily invite you to stay, but if you’re looking for a picturesque, forest setting you’ll want to check back in with us in a couple years. ----- This 21-acre forest with a large beaver pond that is classified as a class-A wetland. In addition to this you can find a shallow creek, beaver dams, old growth forest, and a phenomenal bird habitat. Find privacy and quiet with the exception of the songs of many birds and woodpeckers. The property is minutes away from Blanchard Mountain Trail head. There are numerous biking and hiking trails within a short distance, and while we aren't yet at the point of building trails here at the property, that will be coming in the near future. This property was once a show home, but a fire took place over 10 years ago and the house was not rebuilt. While the ruins that remain are minimal, it sets an interesting backdrop; perhaps it can be the scene for a mysterious photo shoot. We have been actively working on cleaning up the property, but there are the occasional spots where we find leftover fire debris that the previous occupant scattered through the property. If you happen to find such a spot during your stay please do let us know. Within the property is a small orchard with apples, blueberries, blackberries, grapes, and plumbs. While you are more than welcome to graze during your stay, we ask that you not harvest a great deal to ensure there is enough for everyone to enjoy. There are fish in the pond, and though fishing is allowed, we can not make claim to what type or ease of due to the nature of the plant growth. It is not stocked and only fed by the area waterways. I have been asked several times if the fire ban is actually still active. Yes, it is. There is no longer access to being able to use a hose for instance so being able to quickly put out a fire in case of an accident is also more concerning in nature. Sadly with the last several years of intense summers our area is likely going to be in a drought risk again this summer. If you are interested in reserving the entire property for a completely secluded stay please contact me directly, as that is an option for $175 for a party of up to 20 individuals, but no more than 2 camper vans/rv and 4 a night additional cars.

Orchard Camper Van / RV Site
We always enjoy our stay in this simi-private, hidden getaway. Not too far from Fairhaven and Bellingham, but feels like a different world. It's fun to hike around and explore the property. The host is very responsive and helpful.

Tent Camping at the Beaver Pond
Leafy solitude
Beautiful setting in rural Skagit County. Follow the ample directions provided, and you'll find yourself in a lush, private, quiet area surrounded by leafy beauty. Two days went by before running into other campers on the property. There is much to explore just walking around the pond, burned building, and orchard. 10-15 minute drive to great restaurants and everything you might need. You are by a pond – with bug spray, I was protected. Easy to find and easy to stay at :)

Neighboring roosters were loud
There were several roosters in the area that began cock-a-doodle-doing around 4:30am each morning. I wear ear plugs, but they were no match for the roosters. I believe there were three of them scattered around several of the neighboring properties. Otherwise, this is a nice site. Though it could use a toilet and water option.

Tent Camping at the Beaver Pond
Lovely area in northern Washington, with apples and blackberries! There were a few hiccups with the site leading to a double booking, but it’s a big enough property to accommodate. Signage would be helpful, as there are a couple of splits in the property road that lead to different campsites. Pamela was very responsive throughout the process.
