Beach access about 3-5 minutes drive. Small KOA camp store and local restaurant (Dock of the Bay Tavern and Restaurant) are about 5-6 minutes drive.

Good people visit here. Many international guests. No hassle. Enjoy this retreat! Sometimes you are the only visitor and sometimes a few folks are here. This is not a large campground. :-) All welcome to stay just solo, a couple or a group. Plenty of room to hang out solo or visit with us or others.

We had a fantastic time with Paige and Hugh at their farm. They were the perfect hosts, very helpful and communicative, happy to hang out or give us privacy or let us do our own thing as we wished. They have 6 very friendly and quiet dogs kept separate from the campsite, but available for petting as you like :) Paige and Hugh are also happy to show you the farm, with its chickens and chicks (and fresh eggs!), woods, stargazing around the fire, berry picking, and Hugh's smoked fish which is incredible.
The quiet backwater of Bay Center has plenty to do and explore within walking distance of the farm, as well as Long Beach and Astoria within easy driving distance.
Looking forward to visiting again!

What a great farm. We would have liked to have had a little more time to stay and spend time on the farm with the animals! The hosts, Paige and Hugh, were very kind and welcoming. We used our campsite in the field as a jumping-off point to venture further south to visit Astoria, Cape Disappointment, and Long Beach. We would be plenty happy to stay here again. We even got to take a dozen fresh eggs home with us!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Paige and Hugh's Forest Camp. We had a nice, private forested site with space for our tent, a hammock and a cooking area. There was a lot of space between camp sites, so people could stay to themselves or enjoy the communal fire pit (with everyone very respectfully practicing social distancing).

Paige and Hugh are wonderful, helpful hosts who have many stories to share and create the space for others as well if they wish. The location near Bay Center gives nice access to the peninsula, the Palix River and the local oyster industry while still being close to the Wallapa Wildlife Refuge headquarters and an easy trip to Long Beach and Leadbetter Park.

Paige and Hugh were delightful hosts who put a lot of thought and effort into their property. They hosted nightly community fires and stopped by the campsites to ensure all were comfortable and settled. It is apparent that Paige and Hugh have a love for their land and are continuously working to create a culture of permaculture, healthy forest, and love. They have a love for their people, their animals, and their land. It was a pleasure to get to know them and an honor to be invited in on their sacred property. Spots were clean, tended to, and very quiet. Minutes from the Bay with miles of hiking as well. A great spot and from what we hear it will continue to grow and evolve as the years go by. P.S. Paige and Hugh also own a smoked salmon company! Very cool!!

And fun!So much privacy!Another view of the campBay Center Field- 1.3 miles off 101

If you have been stuck in the city too long and need a reminder that humanity and nature still exist, come to this small working farm. It is off the beaten path on Willapa Bay and not far from Long Beach. When you first drive in you’ll be surrounded by farm equipment, but just past the chickens and goats is a wide open meadow and several acres if woods. Paige is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and a great host along with Hugh & Estephan. We had a great experience and would definitely come back.

The camp host Paige is beyond kind and creates a super welcoming environment. She was so sweet with our kids and even found jobs for our teenager to help out with the animals around the farm. The property is quite large and there are some campsites in the forest and some in the fields. The property is definitely a work in progress so expect some debris (a large burn pile awaiting the end of burn prohibition) and equipment around but nothing that impacted our enjoyment. The farm is just a few minutes (by car) down the road from a tidal flat beach with lots of clamming.

We enjoyed our stay in Bay Center! Our favorite part was getting to meet some of Paige's animals, including cats, turkeys, goats and a lot more. The location is about 45+ minutes away from Long Beach, and maybe 15-20 minutes from South Bend. The area was foggy/smokey when we visited but I think the views would be amazing otherwise. South Bend is a super cute town, we visited a coffee shop and a German food store. Paige was a very nice host, and consistent and quick communicator. The one con about this site was the animal noises late at night. The first night, the rooster started his call super early (like maybe 2 or 3am?) and didn't stop for a long time. The second night, a dog (not sure if it was theirs or a neighbor's) barked for a few hours and then the rooster started in (but stopped after a few minutes). Ear plugs or headphones might be a good idea, particularly if you are a light sleeper. Overall, really enjoyed our time in the oyster capital of the world!
