As a first time user of Hipcamp I was extremely pleased with our choice of the Sweetspot for Campers. Ed, our host, was very quick to respond to my email questions before arriving. We took our two oldest grand-kids ages 8& 9 and had two tents so we went with the group site(8) which sits at the top of a hill overlooking the entire camp and pond. Ed was very attentive to our needs making available bagged ice, firewood and a few items that we left at home.
The kids had a blast and talked about it for days. They loved the pond and went fishing, swimming and kayaking. They caught crayfish in the stream and saw a water snake, yikes! The outdoor shower was ideal for rinsing off muddy little bodies. The trail around the camp was just long enough as the temperatures were in the low 90's. We would love to visit Ed and his family again and maybe try river tubing next time. We drove home by way of the Skyline Drive, took in the views and even saw a bear run across the road!

Edward was very helpful! We showed up later than expected due to traffic and he was at the entrance to meet us and show us to our camp site. The site was very well kept and secluded. Edward came by to make sure we had enough firewood and brought us extra when we were running low. He also assisted our group carry our gear up to our camp site with his cart. I would highly recommend this camp site to anyone! We had a big group that reserved site 9 and 10. They were very close to each other and perfect for bigger groups.
