Next to a large, deep swimming hole underneath a formidable cliff face, pitch your tent or sling your hammock in a beautiful clearing carved out of the mature hardwood forest. In a raised flood plain, the soil is soft and sandy. There's a rock washout just a few feet away where you can park your car for easy access. Views back up through the woods reveal views of the valley and mountain beyond, or venture deeper into the woods to discover native flora and fauna. This campsite is periodically closed during high water events (though if you catch the rains just right, you'll enjoy a tall waterfall cascading into the creek just feet from the site).

Wow, what a magical spot! The site was private. We fell asleep to the sound of rushing rapids on the creek. The view can’t be beat with the beautiful cliff next to the site. The trees provided nice shade and protected against the rain (it rained a lot because... mountains). Ned’s dog hung out for a day and we enjoyed playing fetch with her in the creek. Lots of space to hang the hammocks and chill. We were some of the first campers to use the site and Ned was keen to hear about how it can be improved- it was great as is! He was helpful when we asked for things like directions to see a sunset, but mostly stayed out of our way. Can’t wait to come back!

Gorgeous - rapids just to the right that make for meditative sounds all day and night. It’s still pretty when rainy!Abita, the friendly farm dog. Tent site. Primitive, as expected, and it felt pretty backcountry.
