Welcome to Rocky Run Farm Sustainable Campsites.

We are a seasonal, best practices farm located the the quiet, scenic foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We are near Old Rag Mountain, Skyline Drive, and the quaint villages of Sperryville and Madison.

Our easy access, drive up (weather permitting) sites allow for tenting, car camping, and small rv's starting at $25 per night. Electricity via generator and firewood available on site for a small fee.

Camp along side babbling Rocky Run, next to the wood's edge, among the raised beds, or on a secluded hillside. All sites are very private.

Enjoy hiking, biking, and wildlife watching on our 85 private acres of pasture and woodlands with trails and open fields. Deer, wild turkey, rabbits, and squirrel abound. A small herd of cattle graze the upper hillsides.

Help out on the farm working the raised "Ruth Stout" beds, hay making, or landscaping and get free camping days. There is always something to do on the farm.

We look forward to sharing our blessing with you in a sustainable way.

We had a wonderful stay! Our host was super friendly, accommodating, and helpful with showing us where on the property we could be level and in the right amount of shade given that it was a very hot weekend. We had lots of options on the land for where to set up camp. Every option was very private and we felt like we were really out in nature on this huge farm. We were very central to the national park as well as Charlottesville. Wonderful place to see the stars and we highly recommend staying at Rocky Run! We camped in a 32 ft fifth wheel.

If you need a place to get away from the everyday hassles of work so you can wind down and get rid of your stress, this is the place to go. It's a beautiful property to hike around and explore on or you can just sit at your campsite beside muddy run Creek and listen to it Babble along. Nighttime, what can I say on a clear night you can see thousands of stars in the sky. You have water available at the house which is just a short drive or walk from the camping area. There's a porta-potty down at the camping. And yes it is very clean probably the cleanest one I've ever seen.

The site was spacious and private, with plenty of firewood. Our host was very friendly and helpful, while also giving privacy and space. He even gave us a few vegetables from the farm! The open field surrounded by trees allowed it to feel spacious and secluded. The stars at night were beautiful!

We had a great time at Rocky Run. This is a great option if you don't want to camp in a crowded national park site. We had campers on both sides of us, but the space was so big that we never heard them. The best part was that our dogs had a blast!! They were able to run for hours and we didn't have to worry about them ever bother any of the other campers. As the previous review said, we also heard the roosters bright and early at 5:50 am.

Rocky Run Farm was the perfect camping getaway. The owner is incredibly kind and met us as soon as we arrived to tell us about the area. We requested firewood with our reservation and arrived to find logs set up in the fire ring ready to go! All we had to do was light it up. Such a nice touch. We will definitely be returning!

We love to camp and wanted a site close to D.C. for a quick weekend away without the kids. Doug was awesome and not only provided the perfect camping spot but the experience we were looking for. Our campsite was perfectly privately situated with a roaring fire ready to burn and peaceful flat land to pop our tent. I love to cook and only wanted to prepare locally sourced foods...I mentioned this to him and he came back in moments with an assortment of veggies straight from his garden. We loved the hospitality, quiet, wide sky views, and geographically desirable location to local breweries & fall festivals. Perfect weekend away <3

What a great camping experience! Doug was so kind and accommodating for our little group. He had a great site ready when we arrived and set up an awesome campfire spot. Our kids absolutely loved exploring around the property and the adults enjoyed the quiet, private, laid back campsite.
