Arrived nearly 11pm on a Saturday. The host was waiting for us to show us where the site was on the property. He was kind and answered any questions. ( thankfully provided us a fire pit stove and firewood)
Slept in our car w/ mattress due to arriving so late from the oceanfront.
Crossed a stream going uphill In a Honda Pilot just fine.
The first night We originally stayed at the campsite by the lake which had a slight view of the property/campground. beautiful view of the lake and mountains. Private with huge trees.
The second night we move to the top of the hill and pitched the tent. Up there had the panoramic view of the mountains, field of flat open grass area with surrounding forest, 1 mile ish hiking trail access.
We were the only family there for two days. Private, multiple areas for soccer, basketball, and bathrooms. The restrooms were clean and so were the campsites/area.
I had an awesome mother’s day with my daughter and my boyfriend enjoy the property.
Cons: although very clean bathrooms. water in the restrooms smelled terrible but sufficient to wash hands and dishes. Although early in the season..I wished the trail from the top of the mountain were maintained with signs and a clear pathways. We still hiked with my 8 year old and crossed the down hill stream/river just fine but only going so far due to no pathway. No cell phone service. Have to go to about 25 mins out for service pass Welcome to George Washington National Forest sign (only t mobile)
Overall I will recommend this campground. Cannot put a price on memories!!
Did not have to hike for the view. However multiple hiking trails near by.
So much fun! Didn’t miss the service and came prepared for the weather.
Beautiful property! We had a great time and Justin was super helpful.
Our site was in the middle of a beautiful field with views of rolling hills, a pond, and mountains. The kids had a great time running around the property and playing in the small stream. Even though there were other parties camping on the property, there was plenty of room to stay spread out and we had plenty of space and privacy.
Beware during tick season. There is a "trail" on the premises that 4 of us and a dog walked and we found ticks all over each of us and the dog. It's a nice property and I love that it's dog friendly. Our dog loved playing with their dog. I do suggest that they get picnic tables for the campsites but other than that we had a great time and would definitely come back.
