PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY! Rose Cottage is GLAMPING at it's finest (it even has a ceiling fan which will keep you quite comfortable). Available June 1 thru October 31.  Tucked in the woods (about 100 yards in the woods behind our home) with a small kitchen-dining area and living area which converts into sleeping quarters at night with a nice, cozy futon. A bathroom is furnished with a full shower and portable toilet. It is perfect for 1 or 2 campers!  The floors are of the finest pergo flooring and the interior is pine shiplap - you can't beat the fragrance of the wood when you step inside - just like being in a pine forest! There is space outside for others (up to 4 additional folks) to pitch a tent. A tiny deck allows you to take in the serenity of the national forest. A campfire ring is available with firewood supplied. We also have a small propane grill for your outdoor use.

We have a nice walking trail through our property to a small pond we built. We have stocked the pond with bass, catfish and bluegills. The summer of 2019 we had a drought and the pond nearly dried up, and we lost a lot of our fish. With the rains we've had in 2020 our pond is full once again and we have re-stocked. We ask that you only catch and release at this time.

Activities nearby include stepping off our property into the George Washington National Forest to hike along the many trails or head over to Bryce Four Season Resort (only 4 miles away) for a full day of golfing, grass skiing, mountain biking, zip lines, snow skiing, snow boarding, tubing and many other activities (although with COVID, we suggest you check with Bryce on their schedule of activities).  In addition, Lake Laura is also just 3 miles away for fishing, boating, hiking, beach and swimming. The Shenandoah Valley Music Festival is just 5 miles away and offers a variety of outdoor concerts during the summer - view their 2020 summer season at

Your stay at Rendezvous Farm, a 16-acre working hobby farm bordering George Washington National Forest on 2 sides, offers you over 1 million acres of public land to play in. We also offer our 29 foot non-smoking motor home, for use on site only, from June thru October. It is located on the back edge of our yard bordering the national forest and sleeps 6. Hiking trails begin just 10 steps from the motor home - check out our hipcamp listing!

Rendezvous Farm is also within an hour of several caverns, several civil war battlefields, the Shenandoah Civil War Museum, The Edinburg Mill Museum and the North and South Forks of the Shenandoah River. The Appalachian Trail is a half hour drive from the farm. This area has much more to offer. Feel free to inquire about what interests you.

As a side note, there is no fridge in the tiny cottage...after all it is a tiny cottage :) If you do find a need for a fridge or freezer, we can accommodate your request.  We have a full sized fridge/freezer in one of our outbuilding for your use during your stay. Please let us know!

Come relax and enjoy!

Allen was very nice and even on crutches gave a tour of the property and set me up for success. Greeted me with a few fresh eggs for breakfast the next day and an open invitation to pick some tomatoes from the garden. Hands down best tomato I’ve had in a long time! Would highly recommend!

My friend and I had a wonderful time at Allen and Peggy's tiny cabin on Rendezvous Farm. We wanted an Autumnal escape from city life, but still with a few comforts from home. This was this perfect combination of disconnecting in nature and optimal relaxing! I would say the experience lands somewhere between classic camping and glamping, which is exactly what we wanted. We were able to build a glorious fire, cook outside, and take in the stars...but still retreat back to our indoor bed and blankets afterwards! Peggy and Allen provide all the amenities you'd need, so if you happen to forget a few things, you'll probably be covered. Not to mention, it was all so clean. Additionally, the location is great for a short drive to mountain-top hiking in West Virginia and for exploring numerous wineries. I would definitely recommend this spot to friends and visit again!

Staying here was great I highly recommend! The cottage was clean and cozy, and stayed really cool with the fan. Given COVID I really preferred this to a state park campsite with communal showers and toilets. They also had everything you could need for cooking in the cottage, including lighters, utensils, cookware, etc - I definitely overprepared so don’t feel the need to buy a bunch of stuff if you’re like me and an infrequent “camper.” Just bring your clothes, toiletries, food, extra chairs if you need them, flashlights, bug spray, a cooler, and stuff to build a fire (except firewood). Also there is a short walk from where you park your car to the site (Peggy helped us get our stuff there so she may help you too!) but I would pack light since there’s no need to haul a bunch of things. There is a TON to do around the site - hiking, swimming, wineries, etc - so you can be outside all day and having a great time. The scenery driving around the area and hiking is also gorgeous. Peggy even gave us cabbage and beets for the road! 10/10 recommend we really loved staying here.
