Site is literally a two minute drive from the Appalachian Trail. But, for me it was the close proximity to the trail head of Carvin’s Cove with epic mountain biking that made this campsite ideal. Overall nice set up and well kept public area with a semi secluded campsite. Host is as friendly and helpful as they come. If I’m ever back in town I will certainly be camping here again.

To be completely fair, I got in late and left early so didn’t get to meet Leslie in person. We spoke on the phone when I arrived and she guided me to find a site. The property was beautiful and on a winding gravel road. It was very quiet. A few things to note: although the description said the bathroom/port-a-potty is professionally cleaned, it was not at all clean when I used it. Also, the gravel road is steep coming in and the road behind the property (that I recommend you use to leave) is fairly rugged.

We parked right beside the owners home and the hose drenched the entire side that the camper hose port was on so we walked in mud.... The corners you had to turn were unsafe and the there were soft spots and loose gravel which is very unsafe. Highly recommend tent campers only. Campers are dangerous here

Pros:
The space is beautiful, especially at this time of year
It is quiet
It is near McAfee’s Knob

Cons:
-The driveway to enter the property is very steep and our car struggles to go down the loose gravel
-There are not clearly designated camping spots. We camped on a space beside the road. It was not level at all
-The website advertised a picnic table and there was no picnic table
- There is only one communal campfire spot, each spot does not get to have its own fire. This was frustrating because it meant we had to cart all of our things up to the campfire spot and back down after each meal
- There was not a ton of privacy as the campsites weren’t that dispersed and you had to share the campfire
