The short 20 minute drive from Charlottesville was so picturesque. Passing several vineyards and an apple orchid.. They all had tastings and peaceful views of old american rolling hill farmland. Very unique and stunning landscape. Then we got to Llama Paradise. We drove past the Big brown open barn[where we suppose to wait for our hosts!!!]. The farm is beautiful. The Llamas and horses were so well cared for they seem to leap about at sight of humans. Ours hosts felt like old family. They were very warm and made sure we had everything we wanted/needed. The campsite was very private, very little light pollution. We saw the Milky way. The farm was so quiet. But for the frog croaks and bird songs. The bathroom and open barn made everything smooth and easy. If you are looking to escape the busy circuit board of fast modern life this is the place. {bug spray/long pants at night} little gnats, not mosquito. They were not brutal, but abundant after dark.

Cannot thank Paige, Steven, Creighton, the pup gang (Ursa, Mack, Lilou) and the llama crew for such a special stay. The site by the pond is beautiful and is in the shade of a large tree. Our dog enjoyed swimming in the pond. Our girls had a blast meeting all the animals on the property and walking the trails. We highly recommend the add-on llama walk.

This was our first experience with HipCamp and only our 3rd experience at a private camp site, so we had some trepidations. However, we were very pleased with our experience. The sites were spacious and beautiful. A clean restroom was nearby. And our hosts were very hospitable. Be advised that the two campsites in the field provide no shade, so bring cover; the heat index was above 100* while there and we were not prepared with our little tent. On the second day, we were able to move to lower site by the pond which was almost perfect. I say almost because there was a lot of poison ivy on the ground which the owners appear to be trying their best to combat, but I inevitably ended up with some around my ankles. If the ivy was eradicated, it would be hands down the best site I have EVER camped at. We woke up to otters playing in the pond, butterflies and dragonflies landing on us, frogs hopping around us, and just the most picturesque scene with the water, field and sky. The location of the farm is ideal to use as a home base to explore nearby wineries, the James River and Scottsville which is small but has some unique places to stop at.

Beautiful and unique farm with more than I had expected. The llamas were an obvious draw but the scenery, sounds of nature and great company were as memorable. Very quite and private. Clear skies with shooting stats were a plus! Will definitely return for a longer stay and go on a llama trek when temperatures drop. Hostess and host were extremely accommodating yet respectful of privacy. Many thanks - Lee, Ellie and Julie (and Rango)

This place is incredible! We loved camping here and the host was amazing and really friendly. We loved meeting all the llamas, cats and dogs. We hope to return soon! The site is cleared and mowed and flat and really peaceful and quiet at night. We got to see some stars and it was cool being on the farm. There is acces to a bathroom which was super clean and nicer than we had expected. Really can’t say enough great things about the farm, thehost and the adorable llamas!

We had a great time at the llama farm. Three hosts were friendly and extremely helpful and the soundings were beautiful. Although we had other campers not too far from us, we had enough privacy and did not feel like we were intruded upon.
The llamas and goats and wonderful dogs were an added bonus. Would definitely like to visit again

Very beautiful area and nice trails to wander around. We would certainly recommend going on a "llama walk" where you get to lead a llama around the property! We had a wonderful time and Paige was a kind, accommodating host. We'll be back soon!
